Tina Rosario Aldaco Guzmán

Tina is the proprietor of Monica’s favorite coffee shop who also happens to be a hollow shell and collection of personal demons. When the original Tina died in a car crash, her personal demons were left behind and like rats on a sinking ship, patched the holes and sailed off with their newly acquired ship. Although she’s controlled by personal demons, they are of no harm to anyone else as they were only harmful (in an advisory way) to their original host. Tina is cheerful yet darkly cryptic and is a sometimes sounding board for Monica.

A conglomerate of emotional and psychological elements with an entrepreneurial spirit!

(my fav description of tina is the one she uses herself :D )

The original Tina was the daughter of a drug cartel, who had come forward as witness for her father’s crimes. When she died in that car crash, her father walked free. (Hanging Plot?)

Hmm, yeah, interesting to think about where that could go. On one hand, doesn’t Tina have some rule about not being able to harm any person? Bringing her father to justice, as much as he deserves it, might in a roundabout way qualify as “harming him” … On the other hand, I seem to remember some implication that by being directly involved in Monica’s accident, Tina had already broken that rule and is already suffering the penalty, yet never understood it…

At any rate, it’s easy to see why we all love Tina so much. Sooooo mysterious!

She’s said herself that she’d actually have to hands-on stab or strangle the person for it to matter… and those demons are already being punished for her involvement in the whole thing to begin with (causing that crash)

Not forgetting that she was a glyph reader as well (and had one of the crucial elements to one of Monica’s missions).

Phix laughed at Monica for thinking that Tina was a glyph reader, so I’m not so sure of that.

Earlier cycles’ Tinas were friends with Jin…

Tina currently behaves much like a person with Asperger’s Syndrome (e.g., an “Aspie”), in that she is intelligent, highly focussed, and a keen observer of human behavior while simultaneously (and perhaps, paradoxically) lacking in tact and any intuitive concept of smooth interpersonal relations.

While I agree that Tina’s unusual social aspects are interesting, I don’t agree that she’s similar to a person with Asperger’s. Aspie’s lack the ability to understand many emotions, and creative turns of phrase often elude them because they are too rational and empirical to understand the nuances of social norms or colloquialisms. (Think Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennen on Bones.)

That being said, Tina beez my favorite!

Hang around science-fiction conventions (not “media” conventions), and see about that – Asperger’s is apparently a fairly common trait among SF fans…

(I suspect that i may have a touch.)

Tina has recently had a lodger whom has been evicted by Phix.
Wether this lodger was the main source of all the advice everyone recieved or just a part has yet to be discovered.

I happen to think Tina is supremely hot. She’d be an awesome partner. Hey, I’m from Utah; we’re used to the idea of big families. :P

Tina and Jin are, by far, my favorite characters in Wapsi Square. They’re all sorts of awesome.
