Good Going Dietzel! Keep that blood pumping in her.
What a good boy. He is like my dog. She makes sure I go for lots of walks too.
Good dog!! XD
That’s a happy puppy.
Dietzel has so many things to pay off…
What he’s doing right now is probably payback for this.
I was thinking more of the time when she was so ate home he was about to tunnel out of the house or the time when the GGs first appeared and scared him.
How the heck did I misplace that strip! Make me realize why some feminine-themed shampoo bottles are shaped in a certain way…
nuttin ta do with it! 😀 😀
A shower-head on pulse is the thing.. :p
shampoo bottles? nope, girls are to ‘fashion’ for that!! and it wastes the good shampoo..
read the above linked strip.. a power shower is much better! 😛
Why do I get the impression that he could probably pass a degree in psychology? 😉
We know he plays videogames on the TV. Possibly he occasionally tunes in a lecture program on the local college’s public-access instruction channel?
Oh Man! That canine grin is PURE dietzel! (Got her going…!)
Another smiling dog, had a few of those… makes you wonder what’s going on behind that muzzle…
Not dog related, but “Never trust a smiling Tzinti” 😛
Wasn’t it ‘czinti’? Don’t know for sure, you may be right.
Kzinti (singular “kzin”) from Niven’s “Known Space” stories? 7′ tall catlike aliens, aggressive and territorial, with distinctly carnivorous habits?
No, you would not want one of them “smiling” at you. It would likely mean you did not have very long to remain in the pre-cutlet stage of your existence.
I really like how you don’t use any speed lines in this image but you can still recognize their rapid movement based on the positions of their bodies & how they’re both “floating” above the ground.
Dietzel, you Magnificent Bastard!
[And for those who don’t know, that’s not an insult, that’s a trope. And since I’m not evil, I’m not linking it. If you track it down yourself, the hours of lost productivity are on your own head. 😉 ]
Being clever doesn’t quite qualify you for magnificent bastard status.
I’d say puckish.
Googled it. Sounds right.
I don’t think it’s possible to say anything more about Dietzel that has not already been said so…
The first part of his name is Diet. Makes complete sense.
This goes back a few days but I just found this example of
non-newtonian liquids which I thought was apropos to the sports bra arc.
it looks like your link is not working..
Sorry guys, I usually verify the link after a post but I must have had a brain fart – the equals sign between the HREF and the URL was missing. [We really need a preview or edit feature for this site!] However, I did enjoy the alternate links posted. I wouldn’t have seen them if I hadn’t screwed up.
Here is the correct link to the page I intended: [http://www.physicscentral.com/explore/sots/]. It is Episode 8: Goo, of astronaut and chemist Dr. Don Pettit’s Science off the Sphere series of physics demos on the ISS. (He is up there now preparing to dock Dragon to the ISS with the robot arm).
And speaking of the ISS, here is an amazing picture of Tuesday’s Falcon 9 launch taken from the ISS: https://twitter.com/SpaceX/status/205101177875070976/photo/1/large. WOW!!!
Hmm. Well that didn’t work very well. To be safe I didn’t try to use any HTML tags for the links but they are invisible. Here they are again but clickable:
Science Off The Sphere Episode #8: Goo.
Falcon 9 Launch as seen from the ISS.
Thanks, Maji, for trying to cover my back.
That wasn’t taken from the ISS, notice the lighted horizon at the bottom of the picture…
You’re right. I’m so caught up in this historic flight that I made an instant (wrong!) assumption.
But it is still an incredible pic!!!
Try this link.
all I get is green on both IE (8) and Firefox
well, either it is overload by *everyone* looking, or you need a new flash, check plugins… 🙂
works ok here :p
It works at work. I also like the related video of the guy microwaving dry ice.
I too posted late about a non-Newtonian fluid showing up–it seems magma is non-Newtonian, in a way that relates to eruptions.
Might this mean that Monica’s discovery of the exploding island is directly linked to her new bra, in a non-Newtonian fashion?
Considering that she traveled from the volcanic island, to Lydia’s shop, via a process which involved repeated tele(poit)ation, I’d say that she went from non-Newtonian to non-Newtonian via the non-Euclidean.
Hmmm. Would Monica have gone SKREEEEEEE as badly, if she’d been skidding across a tank full of non-Newtonian cornstarch-and-water paste rather than across a hardwood floor?
Back in the, ummm, ’70s or ’80s, there was a theory of catastrophes–the easiest to envision was the flight-or-fight response of animals. I’m not sure how it would be updated to chaotic systems, but maybe if we get all the elements together in just the right way. . . .
Dietzel’s cashing in all those Karma points he’s been racking every time time Monica dressed him up as Senor Bumblebee. LOL
Monica sure is getting her moneys worth out of that sports bra!
Ah yes, field trials and shakedown cruise, which could fail first? The heart’s watchspring, knee joint, or the bra metallurgy… Obviously this is day 2, with her showing style over military function, but D-dog likes the down and dirty! Thanks for no canine bandana.
I have no idea what the hell you just said.
But it sounded cool!
You’re right -I’m getting too vague in my comment and should shut up.
Like I said, I love Dietzel. I want a dog just like that!
wot, checking name too ? seriously need an edit or preview function here… activate it when I make a mistake???? 🙂
Good boy, Dietzel! 😀
Dietzel: Exercise Guru Extraordinaire
Maybe its just me, but when I first opened the comic before I saw “more” of Monica. I could have sworn that was Bud.
We could all use a little encouragement.
I think Monica looks adorable today. 🙂
Oh…and good dog! 😀
Looks like Monica’s getting her $900 worth.
I wonder how Tina fares with her side of the story.
Dietzel seems to have taken her place as exercise buddy for M.
The demons may have a program that is not rated for the viewing public.
i like the emotive balloon shapes… nice style in the panel entire.
Maybe Dietzel should partner up with Shelly.
Shelly and Dietzel would probably have a serious problem working together. They’d never agree on the music to be played during exercise classes at Punk Yoga.
Shelly is a sphinx, and would want songs with feline themes. “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”, or Genticorum’s “Galope Doux Bedon”… that sort of thing.
Dietzel, being of the canine persuasion, would insist on “He Ain’t Nothin’ But A Hounddog”, or “We Can, Whippit!”
If Tina joined in the fun… maybe the theme from “Ratatouille” perhaps?
Speaking of Tina, has she woken up from the BraNinja-induced coma yet?
Spurred on by M’s attempts, I … went bra shopping yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I got measured and the nice lady told me I had the same measurements as M! She was a little off… :S
Meanwhile: Run, Dietzel, run!
Are you saying the lady didn’t measure accurately, or did the measurement take her off guard?
She didn’t measure properly, dropped and recaught the measuring tape. Nice reflexes; poor decision. 😉
A muddy dog is a happy dog.
and this is why Dietzel is my favorite Wapsi Character.
He is super cute and fun for sure.
Peeps, Dietzel is many things, but stupid he is NOT!
Is it just me … or does anyone else see Dietzel as being the logical counterpart to Mouse, Harry Dresden’s dog? Been rereading my Dresden books lately and seeing this week’s strips I just see a parallel, heh.
Mouse would be the brawn, Dietzel would be the brains, and God help anyone/thing who got in the way. o.O
Cue the “Gonna Fly Now’ theme from the original Rocky movie 🙂
Tonight’s random link:
Good boy Dietzel, you are now best puppy!
She’s in lousy shoes for chasing the dog… (Been there, Done that, still have the scars…)
Ooooooohh, he’s gooood…
