Howdy folks and Happy Holidays! Welcome to this year’s Wapsi Square Guest Comics Week! Kicking things off is a festive pin-up of our adorable Monica by the very talented Bea Goz! Please stop by her site, check out her work and thank her for taking part in the guest week.

I think Monica’s had a bit too much eggnog .
She was called ‘the pixie with the rack’ for a reason. Two reasons. But I didn’t think this was either of them.
I think her head is leaking milk…
OMG! is she DRUNK? (hopefully
Is she lying in a pool of her own vomit or is that something else?
LOL!! I thought it was drool.
But upon closer inspection, I believe it’s a blanket.
Or a throw rug.
or even a heap of ‘fake snow’ ??
THANK YOU SANTA !!!!
It looks like her neck has been snapped and she’s lying in a pool of blood. I know that’s not the intent, but…yeah. That’s the first thing I saw.
I’m sorry, who/what is that supposed to be a picture of?
If you cannot see the OP..
“Kicking things off is a festive pin-up of our adorable Monica by the very talented Bea Goz! “
Something about that picture is just downright creepy…
Maybe the fact there is no floor?
Creepy was my first reaction–Maybe cuz the background and shading is always accompanied by demons in Paul’s style…
the demons of christmas spirit… that fits, gluttony, SUGAR, Egnog, and i don’t know about you but after some of that christmas music i just want to kill something (possibly the songwriter or the radio)
So THOSE are the stockings I need to hang on my mantel so Santa can fill them…with her!
… :/
She looks like she cracked her head on the floor and is laying in a pool of her own blood.
Well, she does have that happily delirious concussion look.
It looks almost like she was standing on the box to hang the candy cane somewhere and fell over backwards, but I don’t think that was the intention. It looks like she has a cat’s paw for her hand and Rob Liefeld drew her feet. I can’t figure out what the tabs on her shoes would be.
That could be. I don’t know what sorts of drawings Bea Goz likes to create. Perhaps she is into the macabre and has drawn Monica having fallen off the box, and that IS a pool of blood. Tabs = toe tags? Naw, probably not.
I followed the link Paul provided…looks like a place for goth faerie folk…
it looks at home with Burton movies
I like Burton films. they creep the heck out of me but they are cool
Bows on her shoes, perhaps? To match the bows on her stockings…
Whenever I see drawings like this, I wonder if there’s some symbolic meaning to the toys and items in the picture. (ponders) No, in this case, don’t think so.
I thought those are buckles on her shoes.
That expression is terrifying.
Ok… this one just freaks me out. My first thought was that Monica was lying in a pool of blood. Ok, I’ve been watching too much Bones, but still… *twitch* The position and the pool of whatever under her head (maybe it’s a rug or blanket from what others are saying, but it looks like a pool of something ick) – yeah… this isn’t my favorite comic.
Sorry Bea!
nope… its definitely a ‘pile’ of something… any liquid would make a circular puddle, dripping down the floor..
Unless the floor is uneven…which many floors are…
Dear Santa,
All i want for Christmas is a dead stripper.
It looks like some bonked Harlee Quinn on the head and left her for the kids to find.
This looks to be her favorite position.
Now that’s just … weird.
Now those are what I call pasties!
Clearly, this is the demon of that drunken holiday party…
I think we all have this one.
My office party was last Friday evening, and I quite imagine more than one partygoer found this under the tree the following morning…
I think this is rather cute! I appreciate the artist’s take on Monica.
I’ll happily be part of a minority in that opinion if need be.
Just what I wanted for Christmas, feelings of vague uneasiness and creepy arousal.
You say that as if those aren’t normal Christmas feelings?
totally normal holiday feelings. Look up 2 turtledoves in Leviticus and you will never again think that that song is cute. Personally i think the “true love” is trying to hint at something
Never said it was wrong, did I?
thanks paul for this opportunity! ahahah no is not in her vomit , folks, I’m sorry , those are her hairs, maybe i should have to color them differently!
Happy Holidays
Thank you, Bea!
At the very least, the drawing has certainly set the forum afire with commentary, but I think most of my male brethren would agree that finding Monica under the tree dressed like this would be most awesome…
Ha! Awesome! I wasn’t expecting that since her hair has been so short recently.
Well done!
Man… a lot of you people are plain sick..
isn’t it obvious that this is an interpretation of “I wish someone would wrap her up and leave her under my tree”?
Maybe she is supposed to be the Ghost of Christmas Aftermath.
I know you must of seen this already but….

Have an excellent Winter Solstice.
Gee, when you put it like that, I get all misty.
just love it when they easily throw around the word pagan, “in their world view” and phrases like that that imply that their religion wasn’t as valid as any of ours
Well, pagan has taken many meanings over the years, but generally refers to Polytheistic religions. This is why Christians use it to refer to non-Christians. A one-god view vs. a many gods/goddesses view. Muslims would use it as well were they not already entrenched into the term “infidel,” which has a much narrower meaning (non-Muslims). One’s own religion is always more valid to them than the other guy’s. Assuming you believe in any of them, of course. I often wish I didn’t.
Well, “in their worldview” is really the only way for someone not of that view to refer to another one. Considering I spent the first half of 2010 in a college course about worldviews, I wouldn’t take offense to something like that. Now…if what followed was patronizing, that’s different (can’t view videos at work, so can’t watch and develop an opinion).
@SoWhyMe – From what I’ve recently read “infidel” is a term used by the extremist/fundamentalist groups of the Islamic world to refer to non-Muslims. Other Muslims believe that Christians and Jews are also “people of the Book” and therefore are brethren.
You know, the way we dissect these guest comics may cause Paul to have a heck of a time finding artists willing to do this for him in the future.
The artists are guests here, that I invited. I would expect the regulars here to treat them as such and value the time they took out of their normal schedules to do this for us. Remember in kindergarten, if you don’t have anything nice to say, keep your mouth shut.
Oh darn, that means I can’t comment at all. Rats!
You goober!
That may well be the only thing I really kept from Kindergarten.
I look forward to seeing the guest artists’ interpretations of Paul’s characters. From the above statement Paul has invited them to come play in his sandbox. He knows and likes their work and I’m glad to be exposed to new authors and artists. I would probably never have seen Bea Goz’s work if not for Paul. I took a look at her blog and it was definitely worth viewing. That’s my $.02.
It’s this years hottest selling gift! Life size Monica dolls!
(You know how they NEVER get the faces right…)
Um … raunchy a bunch as we have here, I doubt many have any real experience with life-sized blow-up dolls. So, actually, no, I, for one, don’t know about the proclivity of the manufacturers to mess up the faces.
He never said anything about the doll being a blow-up doll.
Just shows how little I know about them.
I’ll try not to think to hard on that one
Did I say “doll”? I meant…uhh…action figure. Yeah, that’s it. Oh, wait…um…hmmm…
Sprained my neck looking at this one… Nice work!
Is that saturn on top of the tree?
This would be a good point for a Uranus joke (it has rings too), but I’ll pass (for now).
At first, I thought this is the work of Becky Dreistadt – http://www.tinykittenteeth.com/ – until I realized the lack of colour.
Anyhow. Cute, and I like it.
I’m throwing my dos pesos in the ‘I like it’ pool. I’m fond of the cartoony style and did’t get a creepy vibe from it. Bea’s blog has a lot of cool artwork and I think it’s going to be on my regular viewing list. Thanks for the work, Miss Bea….
Christmas is a strictly theoretical concept to me and stuff like this makes me glad. Good work with the art Bea Goz, I will be adding you to my list of links somewhere.
Heh, I’d be more than happy to find THAT under my tree Xmas morning!
