Tina should be here – aside from Monica, she’s the only one with a connection (however tenuous) to Mexico.

    Well, Jin…

Brandi and Bud spent a lot of time in Mexico, remember they were guarding the chalander machine for ages.

Shelly ought to be there. Comanche territory ranged down into Mexico. I might even have some distant family that way.

Luckily I’ve got the time, may 5 is a national holiday for dutchies. We celebrate may 5 1945 ,when the nazi’s finally got kicked-out of our little country.
It was the Canadians that did that in the north where I live.

We remember and honour their -and our- fallen every 4th and 5th of may. At exactly 20:00, may 4th there is a minute of silence all over the country, and after that the Canadian anthem sounds over the lands… It’s..well..moving, all those local brass bands trying their best to pay tribute, however out of tune here&there.

It makes me re-realize for a moment how precious freedom is.

Dunno, gravatar still seems busted for me… i look damn sexy, thank you very much, infernal interwebs! Meh… just look up Kael’thas blizzcon, or Bloodknight Anime Expo.

Anyways~ yeah, that list of comics, I have half of them already. How I NEVER stumbled across this comic, for so many bloody years… … I am most confounded. But, THANK YOU FOR THE LIST!!! I am sometimes glad I suffer from insomnia… well, untill day 6-15 without sleep… hmm rambling, yes, its already been a while since I’ve slept. *cracks knuckles* but, I has webcomics to read, mini’s to paint… … “sanity is for the weak.”

Thanks Dusty668, That’s a great list and includes all the links. As large as it is though, it still misses a number of good comics such as 21st Century Coeds, 21st Century Fox, Challenge of Zona, Code Hunter, Doc Rat, Earthsong, Exiern, Penny & Aggie, Wandering Ones (ongoing) and Cool Cat Studio, Doemain Of Our Own, Inverloch, Phoenix Requiem (completed). However, since it is a Wiki, we can add them ourselves.

      Peter is the Wolf
Narbonic – Completed – huge archive
      Dresden Codak

      Tales of the Questor
      Wonderella
      Olgaf

      - And, a shout out for one of the most wonderfully insane webcomics I’ve ever seen: Hellbound
“I’ve seen the Apocalypse — She’s wearing a fuzzy pink sweater.”
Sadly, Hellbound fell off the web. I hope somebody gets the archive posted someday.

I follow these for the art, the story or both! Some are just silly or somewhat NSFW, but all are grand in their own way.

Days of the dead (Día de los muertos) are October 31st through November 3rd.

You were thinking of Tina’s muñeca in the cellar. That’s something entirely diferent. Days of the dead is fun though, you can buy all sorst of edible variations of skulls, skeletons, mummies and whatnot, ther’s music everywhere.
Those mexicans know how to make a party to remember sad stuff.

They’ll need it with all the violence going on currently..

Hello! :) It’s actually not Mexican Independence Day, that’s in September (I double checked Wikipedia ’cause I thought either I or Wiki had my history wrong but it says “Not to be confused with Mexican Independence Day, which occurs on September”) It’s actually the story of a small force of the Mexican Army beating a large troop of the French Army, a great story from the way my dad told me :D .

Cinco de Mayo is the 5th of May, which is when the Mexican Military defeated the French Military.

Mexican Independence day is September 16, which is when Mexico won it’s independence from Spain.

Corrections welcome, but I think I have that (essentially) right.

Today we celebrate a great naval victory in World War Two, when Allied forces destroyed a German convoy of spices and condiments…

Yes, it was quite a caper. On a chili day too. As I understand it, the allied fleet was already in camphor the night when the word went out and they had to quickly caraway all lines. The allies had to act gingerly and really curry along, then hops to it in order to ketchup with the convoy so they could lay sage to it with an asalt, peppering them relentessly. Mustard been a really difficult thyme since the allies were in constant perilla from German U-boats. Nonetheless the Germans would rue the bay they tried to salep so much spice past the allies. They clove into the German fleet making it, indeed, a sorrel sight.

Indeed that could work nicely. Thing is, “rue” is also a spice.

Well, I lost a lot of yesterday’s page to my computer at work freezing up on me. About 3 hours worth. But I’m probably stopping that one to work on today’s.

      Corona? Yuck.

If Guinness is toxic sludge (per Sequential Art), Corona is water coloured with a little horse pee…

Hey, hey, hey! Maaaaany years ago when I was learning how to drink beer, Corona was cheap Mexican beer. And we knew a place that didn’t check ID’s when you bought it.

        Fall City was mine.
Brewed in KY near the Downs Horse Race track. For those on the east coast think Iron City. That was some bad brew, but like he says first love and all.

Happy “Get drunk and pretend you’re a Mexican Day”! We have a lot of those in the US, there’s “Get drunk and pretend you’re Irish Day” on March 17, “Get drunk and pretend you’re Mexican Day” on May 5, “Get drunk and pretend you’re American Day” on July 4, “Get drunk and pretend you’re German Month” last 2 weeks of September and first 2 weeks of October (that’s a real fun one if you like sausage when you’re drunk), “Get drunk and pretend you’re a Puritan Pilgrim Day” 4th Thursday in November. and finally “Get drunk and pretend you’re a comedian Day” on December 31.

Heh, wow. The texture on Brandi’s top made me think of chain mail, and that reminded me that a friend of mine is in the process of building me a chain mail top x)

(he started the construction from the “bikini” part to get *ahem* proportions right, and boy was it hot. But certainly not publicly wearable.)
