Know any other winged horses? Well, Rainbow Dash, but that is clearly not Rainbow Dash.
When Perseus lopped off Medusa’s head in the Greek myths, Pegasus was born of the blood. Later, Pegasus was caught by Bellaphron, and when Bellaphron got too high-minded on his winged horse, the gods gave him a blast back to cold, hard reality.
I enjoy the fact that Euryale and Stheno are characters in this story. The immortal sisters of Medusa are too often neglected in literature; in fact, they have a role in a future story of mine by the title of “Gorgon’s Tears” in which I tell the origin story of Queen Bloodrose and how she sought vengeance against Lord Carnelian and Lord Serpentine by traveling to the very Heart of Faerie and collecting the tears and venom of the surviving Gorgon Sisters…
