Boy, THAT looks mighty comfortable! 🙂
Lazin on a Sunny Afternoon(Kinks)
Makes me rather think of Slowdive, like Blue Skied An’ Clear or When The Sun Hits… 🙂
(Or the rather excellent Morr Music covers thereof…)
if i was to try one leg on a hammock i would fall off.
kudos to monica for balance 🙂
Look Carefully … you will see Dietzel is helping in the balance.
The Lucky Dog.
Looks like we’re in for a break in the action!
Time to catch up with others — and we still haven’t been to the Bibliothiki Annex of Minneapolis yet!
Place your bets folks!
3. The further adventures of Amanda
4. Jaqui and Punk Yoga
5. Darren the bartender
6. Brandi is secretly up to something….
7. Jin is secretly up to something…
Owen and Lakshmi fer sure, if they are even still around.
I say Owen and Lakshmi as well with Jacqi and Punk Yoga as my second guess.
Shelly has to face off with Luci again.
Did we ever get Luci’s backstory?
…or, then, i wouldn’t mind a story about Georgette…
Between Failures. I approve. Jo is also my favorite out of that group. XD
3, 2, 1… Daaawwww!
Cueing the snow dump in 3… 2… 1…
BAHAHAHAHA! 😀 I hope so.
Wouldn’t it only be fair after a certain snow dump on a certain cruise ship a while back??
So is there a new place since the island is now an atoll under 50ft of water???
Nah, i’m guessing this is her backyard…
Not unless her backyard has a body of water big enough to have waves in it…
What waves? That’s just some rough, bumpy ground – and there’s a wall covered with some overgrowth in the back…
np: Brian Eno – Crows (Drums Between The Bells (Disc 2))
Note the wave breaking on the shore behind Pablo’s signature…
If that’s a wave, what is the glass sitting on next to the tree holding up the left (head) side of the hammock?
I’m voting with you: backyard. Unless there’s a large tree sitting just offshore holding up the end of the hammock.
The ground looks like flat lawn (even bare dirt??) and a rougher section, maybe low garden bushes, or even part of the lawn that’s not been cut since the recent rains.
Yup! Notice the leaves on the wall in the background? And the ‘wave’ is just a pile of leaves. Apparently Monica has been busy mowing and piling the grass and leaves (I coincidentally did the same at the end of today ,when the rain finally stopped)
I’d have used the hammock to rest after that strenuous mowing of my estate-sized 25 sq. Mtr garden 😛 ..if I had one. My adirondacks have to do for now.
Remember she saves the skimpy stuff for the backyard. Or some other secluded forest setting.
Oooh man.. And showing that while i am looking at a deluge overhere….cruel, just cruel 🙂
Lucky Dog! And the canine as well.
I feel relaxed and stimulated, all at once, looking at this.
I misread the ‘AT THIS’ as something else.
I wish I had time to lay around like this.
Odd, that looks like snow at the base of the tree. Assuming that is a tree.
Yeah – what i thought, too.
My first thought on seeing today’s page was “Isn’t it going to be awfully hot with a dog on top of her?”
However, if there’s snow on the tree then it should balance out.
I heard on the radio last weekend that they were expecting the last of the cleared snow from Minneapolis to finally melt.
The last of the pre-made snow for the ski hills ’round these parts finally melted about two weeks ago, so I suspect that there’s no more snow cover in the TC area.
Dawww ^ 3
Summertiiiime, an’ th’ livin’ is easy…
so you are the reason i had that song in my head yesterday…
I saw this and thought of Monica arriving at Mucho Mocha …
This is how my weekdays start.
I was gonna e-mail that one to Kate, anyway … bu she just dropped the filter as she was making coffee and was afraid it landed in the garbage…
@Fairportfan so you’re Between Failures ( http://betweenfailures.com/ ) now? 😉
I’m always between failures – except when i’m extra unlucky and i’m smack-dab in one.
I love Jolene.
I’m looking with interest at Grrl Power, too.
I enjoy Grrl Power too! Dave has quite the potential going on over there…
thanx fatuncle 🙂
i now have a new webcomic to read 🙂
Speaking of Mucho Mocha, that’d be awesome to have a cafe mug labeled/painted as if it was from there.
Yeah! Beats an 8-ball t-shirt IMHO..
I started working on one, I’ll let you know when its finished..
C’mon mr bikini top, give up, one of these days you’ll break! LOL 😛
As Dolly Parton once said, “Gravity always wins”.
I’m just wondering how the lower part is attached. The string isn’t continued around behind Monica’s back. It looks like that fragile triangle of cloth is holding onto Monica’s girl-part for dear life.
Very relaxing to look at. But… the more I look the more I wonder what happened to her left foot?
It’s up in the hammock. You can see her leg extended up in front of her, and the dimple up near the crossbar.
It’s good to take a break from farm work on occasion to sharpen the hoe. Enjoy, Monica.
A lazy afternoon in Wapsi Square land. What could go wrong?
You didn’t just say that…
ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz—–huh? Oh, Thats how she keeps her tummy flat.
They are so Cute, and as always such high quality artwork!! Keep it up.
i could be hallucinating but does dietzel have a pink sunburned nose in that pic?
<3 love it when you guys colour 😀
When Frank Cho did something like this, it always meant “the censors screamed about today’s strip, so here’s a gorgeous picture of Brandy from my sketch book instead.” When Brooke McEldowny does it, it usually means he’s got the flu or some other gastrointestinal ailment. So what does it mean when Paul does it? 😉
That I spent all weekend gutting our kitchen of all the cabinets and re-drywalled and mudded the walls. o_O
I think it’s safe to say that next time it’ll be a different occasion then… 🙂
Aha! Well, I must say, you had a far more productive weekend than I did…and starting out the week with Monica on a hammock is a pretty good antidote for Mondays.
Oh Lordy, don’t remind me.. I have to do the same . The 70’s wood-panelling came loose..took ALL stucco with it.. ugh!.. Who in his right mind uses kit to attach wood panelling to a stucco’d wall???..
Finally ordered a completely new kitchen at Bud’s favourite shop.. My kitchen screamed “redundant 70’s!!” 😆
For a sweet little interlude like this, the reason is not so important…
Isn’t it appropriate this delightful image came about. 🙂
I’d love to get one, but I don’t think my walls can handle the bolts to install the hammock, nor do I have any trees nearby. 🙁 Not to mention, pesky mosquitos! D:
Manymany years ago, my sister (who is a hand-weaver) and her then-husband (who does fancy woodworking) made a hammock for our mother.
We’re talking twenty-plus years ago. It was woven in one piece, the spreader was hand-shaped out of mahogany.
At that time, they calculated that, if they were to produce similar items for sale, they’d have had to charge like $2000 each to be in line with their normal pricing for their work.
Unfortunately, i don’t know if any pictures of it currently exist…
Where can i get a dog like dietzel? He’s awesome.
Makes me want to find a nice flat, warm rock to curl up on and snooze the rest of the millenium away on.
Well, a dog on your belly will leave one hell of an odd tan-line! XD
I have refreshed a dozen times, and cleared my cache, and there is still no comic on this otherwise fully loaded page. 🙁
Paul, can you check things on your end, please? It clearly worked at one time, judging by everyone else’s comments.
