The wall (not connected to the bed) is on the girl's right side. No room for the head to clear the bed. The wall that the bed is attached to is behind Shelly. Assuming the girl is part of Shelly, she's right handed and stabbed the head with her right hand, passing it off to her left hand to drop it off the bed to the floor.
