I now have enough gray hair that I don’t get carded anymore when buying booze. I know I’m not old by any stretch of the imagination, but that’s hard to think about when you creak and pop when getting up in the morning or going down a flight of stairs. o_O I know everyone has stories about getting older, I just do my best not to think about the number of times that I’ve been around the sun, to the point that I normally have to think about it for a moment when asked my age.
However, it’s hard not to think about it when my birthday rolls around. Cards start coming in and family and friends do everything in their power to remind you that it’s your birthday. so on that note, I’m ready to face the last year of my thirties head on. That’s right, I’ll be 39 this April 11th. And if anyone would like to send anything from my wish list, I’ll be sure to send you a hand-drawn thank you card if your address is included! ^_^
Next year, I’ll tackle 40! ^_^

You and I can face this together. I turned 39 in Feb…. (sigh) I am already invisible to college-age lasses.
I don’t know … one of my sweeties in still taking college classes and I’m 39 this June. (Ok, so she’s 30. She’s still technically college age!)
Yes, I’m starting to creak and pop on a regualar basis, but frankly every year has been better than the last, even if there are bits that aren’t so happy.
Any age is college age. One just has to be in college.
Conga-rats on the soon to be birthday!
I feel you about the aches and pains and such. I’ll be turning 30 in a little over a month and I’ve been dealing with them for a few years now. Sports will really do a number on you. >_<
Wow, that’s cool. I turn 29 this april 11th. Never knew I shared a birthday with a celebrity
I’m feeling old because one of my hips is out of whack enough that I wobble when I walk. I’m just turning 21 :p
My official rule is that you can’t call your self old until you count for a senior discount!
Happy Birthday!!
Bunch of youngsters! Makes me feal like I ought to be chasing you off my lawn or something
I turn 50 this May. I’m not thrilled about it, but I really don’t feel that worked up about it – or, really, much older than I did when I turned 40. Or 30. I’m not certain this is because I was unusually mature in my 20s, or, conversely, if I’ve never really grown up.
I think my wife would vote for the second choice, though. Dunno why she puts up with me, sometimes, but very glad she does.
Just keep on keeping on – it’s just a number. And the only available alternative to getting older has an even worse reputation. Who knows? If you keep going and doing what you want to do, you might someday be the grandparent they all tell stories about. Even if you never have an affair with Jin
Youngster.
(I turned 54 in December.)
you should use wishlisting.com so everyone knows exactly what you want.
won’t buy presents but if I see you in uptown I’ll buy you a beer
I turn 23 this December, but I’m already feeling pops and cracks when I get outta bed. But Happy Birthday early, because I know I’ll forget when the 11th actually gets here!
We share the same birthday!!!
Haha wow, that’s so cool…. when people ask what famous person has my birthday, I think I’ll be using your name now!
