I’m posting this here to get your opinions. It
would seem as of late, the Wapsi readers have developed a love/hate
relationship with the Golem Girls. Because of this and some input from
Chris Crosby, I thought they would make a nice unisex tee-shirt. I was
thinking to have this on a black shirt, but I open the floor up for
discussion.

I like it but I’d like it better if the middle one were facing the camera a little more.
Other than that tiny little personal style thing, it’s typically gorgeous.
I’m for it, but then I’m a sucker for the way you draw girls.
Very nice! I like the poses of the first two, but it’d be nice to see Bud in a different pose. I think its because she was already standing like that in a previous comic.
Hee, if it was on a shirt, I think people would think they were some kind of music band. ^_^
Hmm I sort of think the girl in the middle looks neat the way she’s posed, but you have got something there… she does look sort of… off.
I think her eyes seem a lot different from what we’ve seen you do in the rest of the strip. I’m used to seeing you use lines to to define brows and foreheads, but not cheeks so much. I imagine it looks this way to make the angle work right.
Haha, my input was pointless
You’re right, it’d look good on black.
And I like the one in the middle, it’s the one on the right that seems off to me.
AND I can see why people are confused with the changing tone of the strip. I’m just trying to trust to your judgement.
Sexy sexy ladies
They look great! The middle girl does look a bit odd. Not the way she’s posed really, but the way she looks. She looks too human.
As for the shirts, very very cool. Black sounds like a good idea. It’s a pity they’d be uni-sex shirts though. I think that it would look really snazzy as a tank top or something. You know, for a more sexy appeal.
I think it looks good. I also think that Bud would probalby look better in a different pose, but as for what kind of pose I’m at a loss, as it would probably mess up the aesthetic you’ve set with the two border pieces and the text in the upper left. Maybe a hugging pose, since she’s so friendly? … I don’t know.
hehehe I dig the “band” look it has. And I’d have to agree that Bud should be in a different pose… for some reason I see her with her eyes closed sticking her tongue out with a big grin. heheh thats just me tho
I think the problem people are having with Bud is that she’s not smiling, fangs or no fangs. Looking back at the strips, she did seem to be the most serious of the three. The other two appear to be enjoying have their image captured. Maybe you could do something to bring a little smile to her face.
BTW, I like the current story arc, and the Golem Girls. I’ve been reading your strip for quite a while now. You’ve been slowly but steady leading us to something like the current story. If history holds true, you won’t stay here for much longer, but the results will have an impact in a future arc.
Keep up the good work!!!
I *LOVE* it – as is!! I think it is extremely difficult for Art to be produced by a committe …
– and, more often than not, the goodness in art can – and will be, destroyed by an unreasonable quest for perfection – see “overworking”.
As it is – it SINGS!!!
Hm, I don’t think the font (lettering, in this case) fits the characters that well. I think black is an excellent choice for a T-shirt, so long as you give the girls some vibrant outfits.
Looks good and a black shirt would rock for it. A dark grey would also work. Are you planning on coloring it or leaving it b&w?
It would probably be just white ink on a black tee-shirt or black ink on a lighter shirt. So, yeah, just b&w was the plan.
I like the design of it! Too bad the girls themselves annoy me so… :p
I think that because they’ve been hinted to be a three-way split of a whole chimera, the pose should be them climbing all over each other with an about-to-pounce the viewer look in thier eyes.
….plus, it’d be hot.
They annoy me too, and I won’t even get into how much my wife dislikes them. They have their purpose though.
That does sound hot. ^_^
Just what we need freezing our asses off in the Twin Cities.
I love the design, but please, for the sake of the gods, not yet another black T-shirt. I have so many that I am having to search for non-black shirt to wear because everyone wants to default to black.
Re: Sexy sexy ladies
I hadn’t realized that…she *does* look more human! I think it’s the lack of fang-showing-ness…
Also, we’ve seen the GGs mad and playful. “Quiet” hasn’t been part of the spectrum up ’til now.
I like the baby blue / brown color scheme of the site, but that wouldn’t work that well for an IMAGE tee as it would a PHRASE tee. :/ Maybe dark gray?
Oooh, I’d so want that on a black and white raglan tee. White center, put the design in black, with the black baseball sleeves. Yes yes, that would be cool.
How about a dark red? So few people use that and it goes with almost any complexion.
I think it’s pretty cool, though I’m with the opinion that the center one looks wierd. She doesn’t seem to fit the mood of the other two. Other than that, they’re silly crazy things and would make a silly, crazy shirt. Go for it.
Mmmmm, golems.
I think I may be the only one who loves them. But what can I do? I love the idea and the parody and their Mischievousness and their alluded purpose. big things a brewing.
comment on the latest story arc
While I’ve never considered it before, having to sit down and puzzle out what the creeptastic demon thing is saying instead of making me lose interest, is really driving home what horrible things she’s saying when I put it all together.
I love them. They are absolutely darling.
The t-shirt idea is good, if I had any money at all I’d buy one!
The latest strip is so creepy, and reading backwards gives you a major headache but its worthwhile in the end.
The design is cool. I think that Bud looks somewhere between a 4 year old with too much sugar and a kitty. Not a bad look but I think that it’s the eyes that make her look off or the hair…anyway. Black shirts are cool. I like the other girls idea of the raglan tee and I’d like a ringed tee with middle black/ rings white. Anyway, these are cool charaters. One question: In the shadows they look like animals. Which is which?
From left to right: Jin is the serpent, Brandy is the lion, Bud is the goat. And Bud is like a 4 year old on too much sugar, one with a very evil background however.
Re: comment on the latest story arc
Not only did I want to have the writing in context to be very backward and malevolent, I thought it best to be visually that way as well. Also I wanted people to be forced to figure it out and really hear the words. Much like the way self doubt really is.
Very cool. I kinda figured the first two but not the goat for Bud. Well I think that they are fun charaters and damned sexy. I am an Anthropology student so this comic is especially groovy to me. Thanks for making it.
Re: comment on the latest story arc
Yes indeed. The way you have put that into the comic strip has made it even more powerful. Sooo powerful actually that I personally have to be very careful of how and when I read it. I know those exact same words are some that I have been told or told myself, thought myself or knew someone else thought about me and wanted me to believe in a particularly troubled past… Monica’s turmoil is so powerfully portrayed that it is scary. At least for those of us who, although not “seeing” ghosts or demons, or whatever, have honestly felt the way Monica did and THOUGHT or heard (from others and/or in our own head) those things. At times it hits so close “to home”, to what was home in the saddes times of my life, that it is too painful to read. Yet, for that same reason, the story gets me hooked. At some poit, I guess I see in Monica a mirror of myself and wonder how everything will turn out for her…
Sorry for the rambling, I just wonder if your writing is inspired in someone’s (in a real life person) struggles that you elaborated on later or if it all comes from your powerful imagination of what the struggles of someone might be. In any case, I wonder how many of us, readers, have ever been or still are like Monica, aside the “fantastic” elements, of course. That would be interesting to know.
i like the frames from nov. 4 and dec. 13 better. especially nov. 4
i’d totally buy one. tho i feel like the the girl in the middle doesn’t have the same style of eyes that you usually draw.
