Wapsi Square

What is a Wapsi Girl? I have thought long and hard about it, and written something for this countless times, agonizing over the perfect answer. And then it came to me — you don’t have to be perfect to be a Wapsi Girl! That’s the whole point…imperfections and being unique are what set us apart. For me, being a Wapsi girl is always trying, never giving up, no matter what the odds. I may have days where I just want to crawl back into bed with the covers over my head and not come out for a week, but I keep trying. I face whatever it is head on, try to tell myself someone out there is worse off and what doesn’t kill me will make me stronger, a better person. I attempt to believe myself, and often it works. I think Wapsi girls are fearless because they keep trying. We may not always succeed, but damnit we tried! And trying is better than rolling over and doing nothing. So that to me is a Wapsi girl. A beautiful, unique snowflake with the heart of a lion who refuses to give up.

I am far from perfect, but I am happy with myself and my life right now….and THAT is much more important.
