I am a Wapsi Girl, I’m 25 years old and a final year student at the University of Liverpool studying Ancient History and Archaeology. I was diagnosed with hearing loss in my left ear when I was three, I have had two operations that have done little to help my hearing. When I was nine I began suffering pains in my joints, it was put down to growing pains, seven years later I was diagnosed with a chronic condition Fybromyalgia. I was bullied for fifteen years and it made me drop out of college (I’m English so this is not the same as an American college) at 18, with no grades and no job I suffered chronic depression I still fight even now. But I went back to college and am now at university, I’m strong and smart and won’t let my disability stop me, I won’t allow anybody to tell me I am worthless. To top it all off I’m five foot two inches tall with an E cup bra size, I won’t cover up to stop people staring at me, I won’t allow other people to dictate what I wear.
I’m now in a stable and happy relationship and am considering training to become a solicitor or doing a Masters in Ancient History, I want to be a novelist one day and am determined to see something get published.
