My faith, my teammates, my family, being able to help people all inspire me and give me strength! Hard work, perseverance, and being the underdog motivate me. Everyone gets tired, burned out, is underestimated, or has low moments in life. I was raised in a solid Christian family and stay grounded in my faith when I feel like that. Faith goes far beyond mental toughness and positive thinking. Faith is not tangible and it can be leaving one’s self open to feeling awfully vulnerable especially at times of weakness. My faith has carried me through so many physical and emotional trials in my life that I gain strength now looking back. That doesn’t mean I don’t get down on myself from time to time. There’s a quote, “Faith makes things possible, not easy.” That’s so true and I’ve got to force myself to stay strong and believe when obstacles are bearing down on me. I think about the opportunity I have that so many others would love to have [to play professional football and to be a role model-to inspire]-that motivates me to find the energy to get it done, to stand up and fight another of life’s battles.
