Don’t buy it. Athena, goddess of wisdom, is not going to be fooled by a mortal, and certainly not going to fight stupid. Titans are not fundamentally stronger than the gods… and even if they were, Athena’s father is Zeus and her mother is a Titaness. God+Titan is going to be stronger than Mortal+Titan. At this point this is beginning to resemble a bash-fic.
I buy it! I can buy that the Medusa in this fiction is a cheerful, busty gal with a southern accent, so why can’t I buy it that the Athena in this fiction is less wise and powerful than she is portrayed in the fiction created by Ancient Greek storytellers?
Two different fictions, two different pairs of characters.
Oh man, I kept forgetting to click over to Medusa from Wapsi. I love the way you’ve played with familiar mythological characters by placing them in the Lanthian setting, and this strip in particular made me laugh out loud. It’s great to have Wapsi Square back — hope things are going better for you, Paul.
Bwahaha! The extra is astounding!
That Athena was a such $%! head… literally…

Both of Medusa’s parents were titans.

Of course the greek Athena was wiser than the lanthian Athena. . . she’d learned from having her head – and owl! – put where the sun don’t shine!
In other words…DON’T EVER F***WITH THE CHILD OF A TITAN!!!
