Oh… you mean with that shadow that is a bunch of like… invisible piranhas? And the space-y suits that would replay the last thoughts of someone’s lingering soul… creepy in-f*cking-deed.
For anyone not knowing what episode we’re referring to here: it’s episode 8 and 9 of season 4 of the new doctor Who (with David Tennant as the Doctor). The episodes are called “Silence in the Library” and “Forest of the Dead”, and are brilliant (and scary).
The piranhas mentioned are the Vashta Nerada, the “shadows that melt the flesh”. They live on any planet, including Earth, in the dark and in the shadows.
And they don’t usually gather in such enormous swarms – but when the books of the library were made, from the trees of a thousand thousand worlds, the Vashta Narada eggs were accidentally gathered in untold billions, and all of them hatched.
Plus Babylon 5 writers seem to understand that there are things called “the laws of physics” and use them in the stories. Most Science Fiction show/movie writers seem to think that since it is fiction they can trash all that “science stuff.”
The best design for a space fighter I’ve seen in any show, and I’ve been addicted to both Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica since the original films. I love the X-Wing and the Viper but they are far too much like a modern aircraft designed for atmosphere.
The fights where the Star Furies spin around and take out ships chasing them, turning fast because their thrusters are distant from the centre of gravity, but still continue moving in the direction they were before – oh look, conservation of momentum etc.
“There is nothing in the dark that was’t there when the lights were on. – Rod Serling quotation painted on the outside of Dream Haven Books in South Minneapolis.
Sure, your furniture is still there…
But when the lights are out, their primal instincts come out.
Your furniture sits there, waiting patiently…motionless…Until the right moment for it to leap out at your toes in a predatory ambush!
I kept one with a switch that I used to read. Then I got a lamp.
hmmpf
say that to ‘dr who’
frikkin episode terrified me.
I had gotten to the stage where the dark just made me nervous but now im terrified of it (again)

Not every shadow, but any shadow.

potential spoiler alert: If it makes you feel better, the Doctor may be going back to save River
He already ‘saved’ her… Not sure how she plans to rescue her from the computer…
Hey, who turned out the lights?
*cracks up*
this is why tina’s my favorite; sorry raye, sorry cassidy
I’m afraid of shadows, check that SHADOWS more than the dark.

This is EXACTLY why I’ve had a nightlight in my room my entire life. Yay, common sense!
It would probably be more poignant if I point out that I’m 21.
LEGOS. Legos in the gorram dark will PIERCE YOUR FEET.

This page is a great example of why I enjoy reading the comments almost as much as the comic!🤗
