The more i look at Lydia with the scarf round her neck and the obvious benefits of one of her own products, the more i can’t resist an image of 1970s adult actresses – Annette Haven, perhaps.
Actually, now that you point out the scarf, I’m reminded of a story I read once read about a man who visited his family from another town, but the entire time refused to remove his scarf. A day or so after he went back, they called to make sure he got home ok, only to be told that he had been decapitated in an accident quite a while ago and died; the scarf had been hiding the wound while he said goodbye to his family.
Add to that Lydia’s unusual voice and all the other weirdness that goes on in Wapsi and it seems entirely possible to me that Lydia is a zombie.
That or the exposure to non-newtonian, non-euclidian fabric and other substances has led to reversing the polarity of the garble tech mumble foreshadow inference feedback dispersion field. Always tricky, that one!
You understood technical specifications of what could have been a bra, or the canopy over a new hovercraft for all you would know if taken out of context.
Nothing to be frightened of there, unless you have geekophobia. 😀
Rereading, I just noticed “non-Newtonian fabric”. I presume that’s intended in the same sense as “non-Newtonian fluids”, specifically shear-thickening fluids such as cornstarch solution, which flow under gentle forces but immediately stiffen when subjected to higher amounts of stress. Nice bit of SF extending that to a fabric; I can see where, extended unreasonably, it could be effective both as a sports bra and as soft armor. I’d worry just a bit about making sure it distributes the forces well so it transitions as a unit rather than creating edges that could bruise, but surely that’s just a Simple Matter Of Technology…
If that’s as far down as she can go, then she’s going to have a hard time with push-ups. I remember having to go down far enough to, as the instructor said, “kiss the floor”. She has to lift her feet up to get that angle!
I wonder what Tina got?
Insomnia sucks even worse when Wapsi is late 🙁
Yup.
Non newtonian means you exert force on it it gets stronger.
That being said I’m surprised that there’s not mystical properties in that bra
You mean, aside from the responsibility of the cargo?
You mean, aside from it being non-Newtonian?
Non Newtonian is best described as NOT a fig cake made by Nabisco… (pun jar indignantly points to itself)
Eeek! I forgot wot Lydia looked like!
Hmm.. 3:49 A.M. Pacific – must be a doozy coming !!
Oddly I’m still seeing yesterday’s comic… 🙁
0728 EDT Halllooooooo!

While we wait, here’s some birthday cake for you all. 🙂

Paul must be deep in that Facebook IPO trading.

I was just thinking that this is a new form of Friday cliffhanger.
I believe that Fairportfan would say Hssssss… to that.
I want one!!!! ^_^
i’m a straight guy who understood that entire explanation of the uberbra….i should be worried right?

That’ll make push ups interesting…
