Funny how she just assumes it is using the standard modern time elements. But that’s a common mistake people make, projecting their culture etc on those that are foreign.
After all the GGs are from the culture that created the clock and are virtually indistructable. They can poit. In short it’s reasonable to assume that they will be around at the right time.
If the other statue represents Monica then that mean that they needed an archeaologist (or at least someone who understands the culture of the GGs — maybe a historian specialising in ancient history) who is around at the same time. That person would need to know glyphs and have other things to contribute.
That means that Monica’s life would have been manipulated. Then again, teaching her to be a glyph reader may have been enough to generate the curiousity in the past for her to study something related to that?
We’ve probably seen the clock and a fifth key.
That clock isn’t important. But the key is.

It seems like it would all take scientist to explain…
Oh, wait…
Yes. Years, months, days – when not adjusted for calendar purposes – are natural units; weeks, hours, minutes, seconds are not.
Tina has the clock. This is my first time reading this strip; but the ‘fact’ leaped at me.
Of course, I could be wrong. While I ‘knew’ the sphinx was a guardian, I thought it was male.
The first 3 keys are easy to understand:

Monica: “I’m sure when the time comes, there’ll be no questions.”
Yeah, right… Famous last words…
That there’s called foreshadowing, it is. It’s accompanied with loud music: DU DU DUMMMMMMMMM!
