I used to love making s’mores on the stove! My current apartment has an electric stove, and I can’t figure out a way to cleanly/safely make s’mores on it. 🙁
Gas stoves are win. I live on Long Island in NY, and during the hurricane, we had no power for about 24 hours (I know that’s way less than a lot of people, we got it fast because my mom’s on oxygen so we were on the critical list) It was a sucky 24 hours, but at least we had hot food
Back in 1983, we had an ice storm that knocked power out for a week. Well, essentially. They fixed it once in a while, and then 30 or 60 minutes later the lines would come down again.
Anyway, we had gas stoves, and plenty of staples in the pantry, so hot food. And for the 20 extra stranded guests. Dark, but it worked.
Between this and the tiny bedroom, and the single bed they’ve found a unique way to share… I’m assuming they’ve moved out of Monica’s house since they got jobs and can pay rent.
I don’t like cold. I don’t like winter. I don’t like snow. I don’t like driving in the cold. I don’t like being out in the cold. I don’t like walking in the cold. I don’t like pictures of cold because they make me cold. I don’t like COLD!!! I might as well be walkin’ on the sun.
S’mores on the gas stove? Heh. We do that–whenever we don’t feel like risking the wood stove. 😉

Veeery carefully. I’ve done it on my electric stove– as long as you pay attention, it works out fine.
