A large prune juice, followed by a double-shot raktajino chaser. This is a real warrior’s drink… any Klingon would gladly fight his way through an entire Romulan invasion fleet, or an entire pack of starving targs, to get to the loo in time!
It’s both, and more… it’s about self-understanding, and (through that) understanding one another. “Who are you? What do you want? Why are you here? Where are you going?”
Yeah, but I didn’t think the Poseidon Resort was in Japan.
(I got a copy of Randall Garrett’s “Too Many Magicians” out of a vending machine here in the States in the seventies. That copy’s always had a special place in my heart.)
Japan even has vending machines that try to predict what the customer wants; put money in, press a button, and the predicted item is vended. Shawna should go find one of those.
The preview doesn’t show the vending machines, so I thought Shawna was checking out club recruitment posters at school and was jarringly reminded of Doki Doki Literature Club! 😰
Judging by the labels on beverage containers, and the proportions of the beverage cans, I’d say that ^that^ beverage vending machine looks like it’s somewhere in Japan.
If the Poseidon Resort `pool ^is^ somewhere in Japan, does that mean it’s a place that Ruri could visit?
Well, when you’re starting with superficial choices, the best thing to do is start with making a *random* choice. If you don’t like your first choice then you pick something else next time. It’s widely known as the “trial & error” method but it’s only dangerous if used with things that are *more* than merely superficial.
Diet citrus green tea is a good start
“Birdy” is a nice name for a drink, I’d go with that one.
It may have more of a ‘kick’ than you would expect if it’s named after Birdy Cephon Altera.
But I suppose it’s probably not alcoholic.
Birdy! Made from freshly squeezed bluebirds, for maximum happiness!
Oh, the agonies of Toxic Option Shock. If she’s not careful, it could progress into a bad case of the Galloping Dithers.
Try the iced raktajino… the real stuff, not the decaf… it’ll put hair on your eyeballs.
I wonder how a good raktajino compares to prune juice – a WARRIORS drink! 😉
I always wondered why Klingons were so consistently angry. It’s because they’re consistently constipated.

When in doubt — try something interesting/different that you’ve never had before (that’s not too weird).
Go weird or go home!
One for the little lady, and make mine a double!
Hmm, I think she forgot what Scarlet *meant*…
Its what person you like, not what you like to eat…
It’s both, and more… it’s about self-understanding, and (through that) understanding one another. “Who are you? What do you want? Why are you here? Where are you going?”
Why do you like what you like.
Why do you hate what you hate.
Why do you care.
Why don’t you care.
We go back to the words of Solomon, “Seek Wisdom.”
What??! No Bacardi?
Illy in a can!
that stuff will put hair on your hair!
Oh good, I’m starting to go bald.
I want vending machines like that! 😻💞😻
Don’t they offer any soda?
Rob, you can get ANYTHING from a Japanese vending machine. Everything from a Car to well… Underwear both used and unused.
Yeah, but I didn’t think the Poseidon Resort was in Japan.

Josh Gates tried one of those predicting machines in one of his shows. It gave him soup.
Where did you get a book out of a vending machine? Bookstore, airport, bordello?
Motel. The traditional bag-of-chips coil kind, just with several books and other travel items. It was the only SF title in the group.
(I was only there the one night, with my family, on a family vacation—maybe it could’a been a bordello, too.)
The preview doesn’t show the vending machines, so I thought Shawna was checking out club recruitment posters at school and was jarringly reminded of Doki Doki Literature Club! 😰
I mean yeah. With a selection like that…. the choices the choices the choices.
Grab something at random. Sometimes knowing what you like is process of elimination…
Now then, I’d just like to point out Shawna has begun a solo voyage of self-discovery when she’s supposed to be hanging out with Hirishi…
The Ito En green tea is a personal favorite. Although honestly I don’t drink many Japanese soft drinks to begin with.
*rimshot heard at last panel*
Unrealistic, there should be approximately 43,200 more versions of “Boss” in there…
