I suspect that he does know. Even the first time I read the comic, those words lead me to believe that this club is one for supernatural beings (it just looks like a modern, Earth based club).
On my latest archive binge it finally hit me about this one: given what we eventually learn about this club, that bouncer very likely *does* know what the golem girls are and mistakenly thought Monica did to and had to hastily cover for the slip-up

I wonder whether that club is even on Earth?
Probably, but it’s most likely going to be found in Europe. They have an intense club scene that may have bars that look like that.
I’m pretty sure it is based on First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis.
