Huh. So Pickle’s human form isn’t an illusion, or a shape shift, but an actual transformation; She’s very much a red-blooded human teenager, with all of what that implies.
I wonder if that’s the case for all of her classmates, or if that varies by individual. I get the impression that Cricket’s human form is an illusion… but then again, it’s a Fae illusion, so it is probably effectively real anyway.
Pickel is both Plant AND Animal. Her ‘look’ is partly due to conscious effort but also ‘Stuff just grew dat way’ too. Pretty sure she’s still got some ‘unravel to tumbleweed’ in her somewhere.
Entirely possible, considering the starting material. A lot of her plant DNA comes from the Blackthorn. Like many other of the Rosaceae, the Blackthorn has hermaphroditic flowers… each plant is both male and female.
With her mixed and varied genetic heritage, Castela and her pattern of maturation are quite unique; what her peers are going through may help her by example but she’s still going to have to find her own individual way to maturity.
Katherine’s advice is good… Castela needs to take it sloe.
I want to hug Katherine right now. I didn’t start figuring out my own feelings of attraction until my early 30s and I still haven’t spoken with my parents about it(due to their reaction when I discussed my changing religious beliefs some years prior). They’re pretty open minded but I don’t know that I could just bring this subject up with my parents like Pickle did here
Well, I would’a thought Katherine liked guys when we first met her and for a while after. But she is so much changed and improved from the olden days, so who knows? (Does she even work at the museum anymore? Monica doesn’t.)
Well, there was the guy guy playing beach ball who knocked up Oscar, and later the guy with water for a farting fish, so Kath has been attracted by the male gender, but at least on screen, only casually.
this is what dating is for. Dating isn’t about claiming or declaring partnerships.. it’s about exploring potential partnerships. Ask your new friend out to a movie and get to know her better, pickle!
Best advice.
Yups, no rush, she needs to take her time
Katherine is a wise mom.
Mender, you’re tellin’ me; to this day, I still CAN’T believe this is the same timid, introverted, mousy shut-in that she started as!
She met Monica, ‘nuf said 😀
It helps to remember, when we first met Katherine, we had no idea of the events she had gone through ‘in the desert’…
Well, she always was awful smart.

I always wondered
in those other webcomics
where a guy is transformed into a woman
what is happening to his brain suddenly swimming in estrogen.
I suppose one answer is ^this^.
She has transformed into a woman and now has to deal with it.
you’ll also note that she’s been keeping her human eyes more and more, and not slipping back into her plant-tendrill eyes like she used to at home.
Pickel is both Plant AND Animal. Her ‘look’ is partly due to conscious effort but also ‘Stuff just grew dat way’ too. Pretty sure she’s still got some ‘unravel to tumbleweed’ in her somewhere.
We will just have to wait and see how she reacts to a Shawna-neck-nibble 😀
You can’t really control who (or even what) you are attracted to, only how you respond to that attraction
Stela needs to figured out what she wants, and if she is comfortable with including Shawna in her Future Plans (Immediate or Longterm)
I *was* wondering about Castela’s biochemistry. Perhaps this plant / animal biochemistry mix has made her bi.

Gin does help!
Katherine could teach a parenting 101 class with ease.
Kathrine could possilbly teach a parenting class now. But the road to getting there was filled with moments like these. http://wapsisquare.com/comic/then-that-2/

Katherine is now a senior MiB official – possibly only second to Senior Director Oduya – these days.
