Sadly true, I’m a university student studying humanities and social sciences and I get most of my term paper sources not from the library but from the internet. Such cites also often make it a breeze to cite them in my bibliography. 😀
Not in my town, most visited library in the U.S.! (Percentage based, can’t remember the exact percentage though. And it is only counting the people who actually read there or check out a book.)
It is complete and utter bullshit these days. Most degrees have a worth equivalent to toilet paper now and you need one to do practically anything including even most menial tasks. The whole university system has become little more than a scam and a fraud. 🙁
The first Library Science program was created in 1887 by Melville Dewey. It’s kind of insulting that you assume that what we do is so simple it’s “bullshit” that there is a degree for it. Collection development, management, preservation, information theory and technology is all part of the degree, as well as studies in professional ethics and history.
The Sphinx in Egypt was an andro — but in the Wapsiverse, that was a retcon, when some pharaoh had the face recarved into his own. The original statue was meant to represent the Chimera.
In Greek mythology, though, the Sphinx was female, it asked a riddle, and yes, if you failed to answer properly it would strangle you.

Hell yes. Best librarian ever.
I wish my local librarian would kill annoying people who are just there to play games on the computers.
That would remove 90% of the people there these days.

I hate the fact that you need an effin DEGREE in library science to work in a library. Just don’t put me in the reference department and I’d be FINE
wow, you actually need a degree!? never knew
You need a Masters of Library Sciences in order to work for the public library system where I live…

I wonder how her top is cut in the back so it can fit around her wings.
