Yoiks! Who let Killjoy be in charge of the group? I agree with many others…Tina (or whomever is speaking for The Collective) is so far out of line you can’t find it on any tactless chart! I can’t believe she said that while being in striking range of Shelly’s wicked right hook! 🙂
Really, since Tina is supposed to be the super happy ‘bring you up no matter what’ person… the major force of optimism….
The dose of realism is a sign of a bad portent…
Guys… Tina broke. >.> Think about it, she’s been stressing and ‘testing’ her mortality… The very greatest thing a mortal can do is be cruel for cruelty’s sake.
Tina is either being a sole voice of reason…. and/or making fun of the collective voices of the dissenters of the past few comics. I kind of hope it’s just the former.
I can see where she is coming from for both of them.
About as close as newspaper comics are to being interesting. I wonder if Paul isn’t getting just a slight bit of a dig in at the papers. He is from the Twin Cities… Cartoonists there have a long history of not liking the syndicated papers…
Which “twin cities”? There’s hundreds of twin and tri-cities all over the continent, never mind beyond.
Given enough time and prosperity, villages become towns become cities, and when the borders of cities overgrow each other to the point you can’t tell where one ends and the other begins without a map, they start referring to themselves locally as “twin cities” or “tri-cities” of there’s three. I’ve yet to hear of a “quad-cities” but I bet it exists somewhere.
“Twin Cities” (note the caps) usually refers to Minneapolis/St Paul, Minnesota. There is a Quad Cities in the US as well; I believe they are somewhere along Illinois’s western border. (Not my stomping ground)
Some places just get tagged that way. For example, in Chicago, there is an intersection called Six Corners where three streets cross. It is not the only such intersection in the city, but when you say Six Corners, residents know you mean Irving Park, Cicero, and Milwaukee, not Belmont, Ashland, and Lincoln.
Well. Why are people talking about this like Tina is sooooo totally serious about it? One of the early comments said it best. Tina IS the fourth wall. I think part of Tina reflects the fans’ feelings, and with the obvious rage hate of M’s haircut and Shelly’s relationship, Tina just had to say something mean to reflect the fans.
Not that I’m complaining about that. A lot of people were way too vicious about Paul’s decision. =/
I wonder if Tina is just vocalizing the doubts that Monica and Tina might have.
And sometimes ‘Hi’ just isn’t enough!
Okay, so i’ve been away for a little less than two hours and the Gravatar has changed, i see, now that i’ve come back.

Two girls walk into a coffee bar… Ow.

An interesting comment from Tina about another relationship…

Huh… I wonder..

Ouch! But I’m glad someone pointed that out regarding Shelly’s boytoy.
But I disagree with the haircut judgement, short hair can be very cute and helps emphasize other, um, attributes.
Those, um, attributes needed more emphasis? 😀

Newspaper comics aren’t interesting?
Isn’t Tina Inc. supposed to be the self-esteem booster?
Remember how Tina works, people. What she’s trying to do with them is probably not as straightforward as it seems.
Hell, this is Tina. Reverse psychology itself is probably too straightforward for her usual M.O.
Let’s wait a while before we pass judgement here.
Ouch. You know, that’s no way to keep your regulars, Tina. Or friends, either.
BTW, Monica has seldom looked hotter than in panel 2. Mmmm, she makes a tank top TALK! 😀
The board behind her says “Have a good day!” Riiight…
Ouch! What the heck Tina! That was mean!
