Castela from a parallel universe? The left eye would suggest some sort of targeting device, meaning she got taken by the thugs that killed Leucoisa, got weaponized, rebelled, and escaped to The Library.

Can we get the last panel as a stand alone art piece? If not you definitely put it on eBay or to your Patreon and get some $ coming in. It’s awesome

I… I never even thought about that person Dietzel went to in the library being some part of Digit. ~<3

Not part of Digit, but maybe the student she was helping.

i thinks this is a case of ” throw away NPC.” .. no name, no background.. just filler to tell story..
like the gaming group going after “…” , an meeting NPC (a barmaid), ,, then the GM has to make a back ground,, cause the party now made her a “player NPC”…

an personally i think the 2 are not connected… just that D & D are so connected that they did the same thing by chance…

Is she… some sort of living statue or mannequin?
There is a line around her right bicep, right thigh and left shoulder, possibly implying they are detachable, not to mention her face looks like it is a mask

Wait, haven’t we already met someone who has a mask for a face? o_O

That line is one of the straps having fallen off her shoulder. You can see there are two lines for strap on the ‘right’ (her left) shoulder — but on the other, just one, and the other has slipped off to the side. And I think that line might be just a strand of hair?

And… the line on her thigh is just the hem of her dress
Was hoping she was some sort of living mannequin para 🙁

I think the dress itself is asymmetrical. One shoulder has a sleeve, the other doesn’t. Look closely at her earlier images. It fits with the asymmetrical eyes.

I’d say that it doesn’t particularly matter who she is, but that’s not really true since all people matter (“human” and otherwise, I’ve known some fine critters who were just as much people as the hominids around them).

What really does matter is that Dietzel did the right thing for someone who was in need, and gave unconditional love where it could do the most good. And, as robnot mentions above, Digit was doing the same thing in a different manner elsewhere at the same time. The two of them are most definitely well matched.

Fragmentation becomes integration. The fractured mask becomes a unified face. Moving from darkness and shadow to light and space. Poignant, very poignant.
