I’m not sure what “the usual M/F ratio” is to you. Like a majority of comics and anime in the last 30 years, women and girls predominate (being viewed as more interesting to readers of both genders). Wapsi square may be one of the more extreme examples, with males making an appearance in something less than 5% of all strips.
I suppose it depends on what you read. People tend to find what they go looking for, particularly on the Internet.

Yeah, but this comic still hasn’t passed the reverse bechdel test. Even when he only has males in scene, they are talking about women…
