ok, so yesterday’s strip she’s yelling to not open the door, but today they go crashing thru the glass in the door (or so it seems). (Why didn’t they just look thru the glass first before breaking the door? Further, any large glass especially in a door has to be tempered and shock resistant so should not have broken that easily. But then again, this isn’t “real life” this is Wapsi Life.)
Agreed, though since she’s living metal, I’ve been assuming her body (not her intelligence though 😉 ) is rather dense. She’d be able to easily smash through substances sturdier than glass, or wood even.
It looks to me like the door may have been a thin panel of wood, possibly held in a frame, and those flying bits are what’s left of the thin panel.
We have VERY Little to go on here. She said “what,” and not “who.” Dustin took the brunt of shattering whatever door, or wall they broke through. So, are those HIS stars?
… unless the “what” is plural, and collective, and what they have stumbled on is yet another group of doppelgangers, conducting a seance.[ ie. They are BOTH Ghosts now.]
It looked to me like they led with Daylla’s hands, so they took the brunt of it. I think the stars are mostly his from being landed on by Daylla, though.
Well… I have no clue what she suspected. At least it’s apparently a “what” rather than a “who”.
Is the look of her left eye a clue? There seems to be a reflection… can’t make out the details… might be an energy vortex of some sort? A glowing wormhole to who-knows-where?
Don’t open the door. Let’s just bust through it instead, making a memorable entrance being all important. Must be a rather weak door in any event. Really a bad way to stop him from opening the door in any event.
YUP! even if she’s more slightly built then she appears, I think we’re still talking 200 to 300 lbs
[90 to 140 kg.] Gryphon Middle School must have some STURDY construction.
I’m assuming she busted through it completely by accident, that she intended to tackle him to stop him, and wither overshot her target, tripped, or used too much oomph.
As noted above, it’s likely that’s not plate glass, due to Daylla’s relative indestructibility, and that the fragments don’t look particularly clear or reflective.
But part of your point still stands: Being made of living metal Daylla at least likely doesn’t bleed.
For what it’s worth, if the metal Daylla is made of has the density of steel, and she’s the size and shape of someone who’d weigh about 100 pounds if they were made out of meat, then Dustin just had 800 pounds of girlfriend-doppelganger land on his chest.
That’s probably enough to knock the wind out of even a fairly tough therianthrope.
Hoo boy.

I think they broke through a wooden, metal, or adamantium door. Those broken bits don’t seem to be glass.
agreed with this – my first thought was solid hardwood.

Which means she just crushed whatshisface’s ribs. Poor whatshisface.

Yes, regardless of how she can alter her appearance, just what does a 5′ 6″, or 5′ 8″, medium build, school girl WEIGH? That’s gotta HURT!
Not to forget, she is made of living metal, even the light metals can be quite ‘weighty’ when impacted like that

Pretty sure that’s “hair is in the way”.

Considering Daylla is made of living metal, and considering she led with both metal hands (not with Dustin), it could’ve been quite a solid door.

*either, not wither. Dangit.
… too much “English” 8D
It would be funny if it was a Dalek on the other side of the door saying “exterminate!”
She found the little men who set dress the universe before we encounter it.

It’s… A NEW CAR!M/strong> [audience goes wild]
dammit
These kids crash through plate glass and there’s no blood? they MUST be Paranormals!

I just wish that I could see what Day;;a is seeing!
Maybe it’s the desiccated remains of Daylla B.
That may be part of it, but that alone wouldn’t explain the ‘what’ the other her figured out, as well.
I see where this is going.
Friday will be an illustration instead of a strip.
Sick of cliffhangers, personally.
Congratulations on making it to Thursday this week.
It’s…it’s…A HUMONGOUS WALRUS!!
Goo goo ga joob!
Just noticed Dustin is wearing a wristwatch.
I noticed that back on the 26th, but it disappears on the 28th, and now has reappeared.
I wonder if this is just a booboo or has significance.
The ‘what’ is most likely some sort of portal or dimensional rip
