Darn. Me with no time to give it a good look. Well, I’ll catch it tomorrow…let me know how it plays, guys.
A little bit “Peanuts”, a little bit rock-and-roll. A high energy ride that will make other people in the room look at you funny.
Highly anticipated.
This is gonna be FUN!
Looking forward to it. Love the strip and story, so this will be great!
Some of it is reminiscent of the old Peanuts animation style.
And then I see the other comment, so there is definitely something there.
This looks really good!
Looking good!
Might I enquire who’s providing the music here?
The song is Head of the Game by Grace Mesa, and yep, it’s all licensed to make it legal. ^_^
Where can we listen to the entire track? It’s not on YouTube.

This is incredible! Excellent animation, story line is up to expectations (excellent) and absolutely loved the song.
Had the time. Shawna and Castela carry themselves proudly.
Not sure what voice was thinking of for Shawn, but that wasn’t it (no offense meant)
Love it. The Voices are spot on, I think 🙂 …. and I’m so glad to see some wapsisquare again!!! Missed your Beautiful Storyline, characters and art. Hope you and your Family are doing O.K. everything considered and that we’ll see some more of you here again 🙂
The audio mix requires some fiddling. The voices don’t stand out from the music well enough. Need to reduce the background music by half in the opinion of this former DJ.
As an occasional theater tech with some sound experience, I think I’ll concur with that assessment — it would not be a bad idea if you’d lower the volume on the background music at least for the duration of the dialog. You can bring it back up after the dialog ends.
I reduced the volume by half when the dialog was running, and brought it back up when not talking. All levels were mixed within cinematic guidelines and I could hear everything perfectly clear through my monitors, headphones, and single mono speaker. Not sure what else to tell you, but this is a trailer and meant just to get people excited to see the actual film. The sound mix is totally different in the short however.
ah, you’re right, you did bring it down, I hear that now. My confusion was that there were one or two places (about a second each) where dialog happened to be right on top of song words, and they mentally conflicted with me. Not a problem with this trailer.
(Oh, here’s another source for some background music that’s royalty free — you just have to give credit at the end. https://audionautix.com/ )
Maybe I have been watching too much anime, but it is SOOOO NIIIICE to hear teenage girls that sound like mostly adult humans instead of helium-snorting chipmunks.
Good vocal choice to everyone involved in making it.
>.> You just HAAAAAD to go and get me pumped up for an already amazing animation, didn’t you?
I’m watching you, Paul…..
Pair of fingers to my eyeballs and then distended in your direction…
Wow, this looks rad. Gives me Jamie Hewlett vibes too somehow.
I hope The Library is self-repairing since Castella is evidently going to be blowing holes in it.
Poul Taylor I’m surprised you didn’t make your first animated story about the original main character Monica, this animation look nice just wondering why not making it with Monica.
Because I’d like to do something more complicated with Monica, and these characters provided a nice simple story to experiment with first to see if I can actually do this. =)
Ah, so this is like a test run sort of.
Is anything with Monica ever less complicated?
(to Robert)
Less complicated? Maybe a snow gag.
Interesting fact: Opening in the year 859, the Al-Qarawiyyin in Fez, Morocco is the oldest working library in the world
