Sensei can’t be too clueless, if she’s teaching at Gryphon. She must have experience with insane shenanigans.

She appears to have the dentition. Not too many Humans have prominent Eye Teeth in their lower jaw.

Ahh, but wait until she gets done with school. Suddenly not being in school is a real culture shock when you’re officially out of school. Then you have to get used to the entire working culture then too.

That’s a big advantage of doing internships, just as Pickle is considering. You get exposed to the culture difference gradually (rather than all at once when you start your first full-time job and have to earn your own living or starve.)

One of the best/luckiest decisions I ever made, was to go to a college that ran the whole second half of the undergraduate program as a work/study coop/internship. Undergrads spent alternate quarters in school, and working in industry.

Be wary of freshman high-school year decision making, young squire. You don’t want to be weighed down by something at age forty by a bad choice now.

How could things go horribly worser and worser?
How about Digit in human form sent to school to learn to act “human”?
    Or
New character Pickle falls for….but he’s gay?
    or
    …….
It could go on and on. let’s just wait and see.

Digit works in the school library. It would seem she’s too old to be a student, but old enough to be a chaperone.

Judging from anime it’s a standard feature in Japanese high schools.

The problem with using them in high school, is that many high-school students’ workload of books and homework materials can completely fill a backpack with Dense Material. Hang that much weight on the side of a desk, and the whole desk may tilt and fall over.

I would’a thought paranormal kid. But, then, maybe, Lakshmi really is the Hindu goddess and not just a namesake. After all, she could throw a bowling ball down an alley without it touching the ground.

Think of a young man, thick hair like his mother, only blond like his father, contrasting his dark skin.

And a propensity for popping out two extra pairs of arms since he turned 14.

btw- What exactly IS ‘Home Room’ anyway? Never had it/one…

    • Dave
      September 23, 2018, 8:44 am | # | Reply

Students in any particular grade in a high school usually do not all attend the same classes at the same time… you may be with a different group of students for Chemistry, for example, than for History.

You could think of Home Room as a class session (sometimes shorter than most) for administrative purposes… it’s where the teacher calls the daily roll to see who is absent, makes announcements, and so forth. It’s often early in the school day… first or second class period. Students would usually remain as part of the same Home Room class through the whole year, even if they’re on different or changing academic tracks or course schedules.

The Home Room teacher often serves as a student or parent’s primary “point of contact” with the school administration during the year. The Home Room teacher might or might not actually be teaching one or more of the academic classes that a student attends during the day.

What is this trope of any school show, that somehow one of the students has heard about a coming transfer student before any of the staff announce it?
Even rumors have to have a starting point!
