This is probably inside the building. It’s a remodeled warehouse or factory of some sort, the Gilchrist family has all of the floors, and we’ve seen that some of it is decorated in “industrial chic”.
Don’t know about being inside on this one. No sense of a doorbell or knocking going on and she just kind of bolts when she sees her. I’ll go with outside though.
There’s a portal inside the home. It’s been used on several occasions in previous comics … as I think about it, seems like ten or a dozen.
Recall that the Gilchrist home is a re-purposed industrial warehouse/old factory with four floors plus rooftop. Don’t recall mention of a basement, but there almost has to be one. And, with all sorts of MIB & para tech/magics, modifications would almost certainly make the inside of the entire home larger than the exterior structure of the building. I would be unsurprised if there are several portals, with varying degrees of access to different individuals and obscurity of location. Undoubtedly all with Very Significant Security Measures.
Which also has some sort of door knock or door bell. Yes, this is a referb’d warehouse, but let’s also not forget that this is also a home and as such people not resident aren’t just allowed to waltz in and out at their leisure. That’s the kind of behavior that would lead to a panicked mauling of what would be an intruder. Hence the door.
Please tell me that Bryn is responsible inspiration for the Harley Davidson artwork around the flat. I somehow have a need to see Bryn take Katherine on at least a daytrip on her hawg. Maybe even a week/weekend roadtrip.
Yeah, I think she heard Bryn’s bike/whatever and went running outside; it’s a good explanation that seems to fit the panels. My first thought is only a Harley would be that distinctive.
Your average para is indestructible enough that leathers wouldn’t be required for safety’s sake. However, wearing them in addition to a helmet (if there is one that would fit over those horns) would prevent “mundane” non-para cops from pulling her over for violation of any helmet laws and other laws designed for the safety of the rider. (I have no idea what the laws re: riding with a helmet are in the Wapsiverse)
Two possibilities are that she had a jacket and/or helmet but left them on the bike, or she was using the same kind of camouflage paras use to appear human, to make it _appear_ she was wearing them, then turned the enchantment off when she got to Kath’s place.
For some reason, I kept reading the description of her being a faun as being a “fawn”.
Given her sheeplike horns, calling her a faWn made absolutely NO sense to me.
Now that I know what a faUn is, it makes PERFECT sense 🥴
I could totally have made the same mistake.
I was mainly thinking of her as a female Satyr, with Faun just being the female noun, like “doe” to “deer”.
Turns out “Faun” is the Roman counterpart to Greek Satyrs, much like they renamed all their borrowed gods.
so… confirmation then. ~<3
Did we know about Kath’s orientation before this?
To be fair, we still don’t. She could be gay or bi, to say the least. I don’t feel like going full modern dictionary on this.
These two have been seen dating and vacationing together several times before, so essentially yes.
How my mind works;
First thought is “Where are Ms Gilchrist’s hands?”
Same place mine migrate when hugging my SO, the booty.
My first thought is, “Bryn has gotten taller.”
Heels?
My 1st thought; “They make me happy (& then the tingly kicked in…).
A little confused by the immediate local. Is this outside the apt building or is this at some sort of airport/bus station/train station?

Thing is that they apparently have a specific door.

Pretty sure we can infer that Kath heard the Doorbell and ran to meet her, Outside the building…
Or Inside… as the case may be.
And they also seem to have a portal. I belive that Castela called it ‘an emergency door’ some time back.
Para door?
“Para-safety door”

Thx
Also, BRYN!!!!!!!
Yes! ALL of my yes.

No leathers? Or do paras ride in shirtsleeves?

Anyone else feel like panel 1 is missing a sound effect?
Also, who are we betting on to walk in and interrupt them, Atsali or Castela?
1) A soft, subtle footstep, too quiet to be noticed by anyone who wasn’t waiting eagerly for such a sign.
2) Yes.
Only if you don’t want to wear the same clothes to work the next morning, Bryn.
Nah, kat looks about the same size… 😛
I belive that it is summer now. Schools out.
the sign says Grain Belt Beer!
On tap
Well, someone is about to ‘tap that’ 😉
“You won’t need a bag as you won’t be wearing clothes while you are staying here.”
Not enough boys here.
“Thanks for having me.”
“Thanks for being had!”
I probably shouldn’t ask this, but what kind of Para is Bryn?
She’s a faun. =)
