Since Shelly’s mom died when she was 10, before she’d have been likely to be making wardrobe choices a parent would question in that fashion, it’s more likely that she’s thinking of her dad, who would have been there for that portion of her life.
You can’t gain good judgement without bad experiences. You have to learn WHY that’s bad. Let her know she’s looks like an easy lay and then let her go.
The problem with that is it can be a fatal mistake that really screws up a bit part of their lives if they don’t care at the moment. I’m a firm believer in “the burned hand teaches best” as well, but there are some things you just have to say hell no to because it could cause them to destroy themselves.
I’m guessing that by ‘short guy’ you actually mean Owen. If that’s the case then: No, he’s Lakshmi’s boyfriend. Nothing happened to him, he just doesn’t appear much in the later parts of the comic. He wasn’t a fling, since they were never actually together. And if you don’t know this, then perhaps you should “just start reading the comic” again, from the beginning.
Neg, there’s no need to be a douche. Grom was asking a simple question. Besides, the story does cover a LOT of twists and turns, and a lot of characters, too. Ease up, man.
There is ALWAYS need to be a douche! =)
But seriously, I don’t think I said anything even remotely insulting (like I usually do). It was just a simple suggestion. Your reaction on the other hand… yeaaah, perhaps you need to “ease up, man” =)
Oh, great: she’s channelling her mum!
More likely her dad. It’s the sort of thing a parent says when they recognize that their child’s wardrobe choices project negative things about them.
I believe moms are more like “And where do you think you’re going, dressed like that?”

Now she sounds like a know-it-all parent.

I’ve just started reading this comic and really enjoy it.
I’ve got a question though. Isn’t that short guy (forget his name) Shelly’s boyfriend? What happened to him? Was he just a sometime fling?
