We tend to forget the cultural context of miniskirts in that era.
Miniskirts in the late 60s and 70s represented female independence.
Wearing one was like signaling: “No, you don’t need to get my daddy’s permission to take me out on a date; you need to get MINE!”
The idea behind the TOS women’s uniforms was that “all women will have these civil rights and social freedoms by default in the future.”
The first season of ST TNG had full body jumpsuits, but the entire cast hated them. The next uniform kept the same colour pattern, but was separate pants and tunic, but Patrick Stewart’s didn’t fit him flawlessly, giving birth to what is now jokingly referred to by fans as “the Picard Maneuverer” (I.E. giving his tunic a little tug downward every single time he sits down.)
Y’all. She’s dreaming. It doesn’t have to be all from the same series. The subconscious is a weird place and the uniform could very well be blended from her favorite series.
Monica, Atsali, Skyler’s mom, and Helen Blair occupy their own level, but the merely Lingerie model bustlines are amazingly common in the high-school crowd (along with Kath, Jin, and Brandi (see nude with butterflies)). Scarlet barely stands out anymore. We’re treated to so much fantasy figure that I found Mindy freaking out on Hiroshi’s shoulders much more appealing than Mindy sans glasses, despite her breathtaking beauty. I think Suzie has the most normal body in the whole comic – just slightly thick around the middle.
Oh, I’m not complaining. I’m solidly in Paul’s target demographic. And given the ocean of alternatives on the internet, it is the writing and emotional content of the art (NO ONE does eyebrows like Paul. He even had Charon looking concerned by slightly adjusted bone ridges. To say nothing of Digit as a spider) that holds our interest, not the eye-candy.
It doesn’t bother me, but I do kinda roll my eyes when even characters who started out as less-“robustly endowed” adult females picked up the “you must be this busty to ride this comic” figure over time — Katherine, Tina, etc have, um, “grown” in their artwork over the years.
Even Mindy has been affected in just the short time since her first appearances — somehow you have to reconcile this http://wapsisquare.com/comic/we-trust-you/ with what we see today.
Continuity. The tribbles were there, so, logically, they must be there in the other continuations. (Unless the Klingons have successfully eradicated them.)
Like here. Just because we don’t see as much of Tina or Phyx lately (sigh), doesn’t mean they’re not off somewhere cooking up some incredible mischief.
I’m too jaded on webcomic magic- I waited 30 seconds for the eyes to blink…
Yeah, that would have been so cool if Paul would have set up the blinking of the eyes as an animated GIF. 😀
It started with the last panel yesterday- I scanned and squinted longer than I should have.
Wonderful as usual. Love the dream sequence.
The interloper appears to be female.
ime
A younger Barbara in an intersecting time loop?
“I couldn’t sleep, so I made some kind of berry tart. Be a dear and light that lantern, would you? It’s a bit dark in here.”
They tell me that uniform is supposed to be unisex. If that were so, why did I never see Captain Picard wearing one?
TOS vintage.
Gene liked women in miniskirts.
Who doesn’t?
No, TNG. You can tell by the dark collar and the dark material from the skirt coming up in a point.
Was that the “Cosmic Cheerleader” outfit, or did only Troi wear that (first season TNG?)
It’s a TNG uniform, but she’s using a TOS communicator. Whatever, it’s Teh Sexy.

@GreatScott yes, I recall the “cosmic cheerleader” characterization. It never really fit. I preferred Troi in the plum jumpsuit…
TNG uniforms were all full body outfits, no exceptions.
Now I wouldn’t exactly say that; I saw a few minis in TNG here and there
Formal uniforms DID have a skirt option but I think only Troi ever wore it on screen
Not true,
I’m working on a cite…
nope, in first season they had several variants: skirt, shorts, short sleeves…

check out the first season of TNG. You’ll see some guys in the background shots wearing the minidress uniform.
Redshirts, probably.

No need for nerd fighting.
It is definitely a blend.
The miniskirt is season 1, but the sleeves and collar are definitely season 3-onwards.
Gyrre but nerdfighting is FUN.
Camelot, when the walls fell.
Shaka, When the walls fell…Sokath, his eyes open!
Them Tamarians was smart–they used metaphors…
and now for something completely different….
fyi… if the spook doesn’t have a banana then they should be safe… those things are dangerous.
Wow, Min really IS HOT w/o her glasses, but then she is cute with them on as well. “Molecules”.
You can really tell Mindy is the great granddaughter of Aphrodite in these panels, especially without her glasses in panel 2. The genes are there.
The nerdette who would be Goddess…
I bet that’s Hiroshi she’s going to wake up.
I’m in love! What? She’s the descendant of the Goddess of Love and it’s probably a secondary effect of her powers? Naw, I don’t think so.
Looks like another customer for the Ninja corsetiere
So much for pathos!

Naw…. it’s the eye candy. Def def definitely. And Tina. I do enjoys a good cuppa joe.

Oh, yeah. It makes me appreciate the unchanged physiques: Bud, Lilly, and Amanda. Connie and Bia don’t count, and Shelly has been mildly fluctuating.
Honestly I always figured it was so he can get away with selling pinups of them easier.
Call her a geek, a nerd, or WHATEVER; With her dreaming Star Trek, Mindy is my kinda gall
OK, Mindy in Star trek garb == WIN
Oh yeah…. i didn’t notice the st thing. And trouble with tribbles is tos.
Nope there is a DS9 episode that is ALSO the trouble with tribbles. (infact there is a cross over episode between series VERY well done effects.)
“The Trouble with Tribbles” taught me one of life’s great lessons.
To quote Captain Kirk, “There is no accounting for taste.”
Also, it’s a great lesson in ecology… don’t transport exotic species to new environments where they have no natural predators.
(Cue Cyrano Jones, mournfully singing “♫ Nobody gnaws the tribbles I’ve gleaned… ♫”)
“Who put the tribbles in the quadrotriticale? And what was in the grain that killed them?” Well, if you hum a few bars, maybe I can fake it.
Continuity. The tribbles were there, so, logically, they must be there in the other continuations. (Unless the Klingons have successfully eradicated them.)

“What is your favorite coloUr?”
sorry, had to keep it British, y’know?
How much y’all wanna bet that’s just Connie trolling them?
And, of course, it’s probably light reflecting off glasses . . .
Please let the glasses be a talisman and not just a trope :/
um.. are you changing TWC banner? if so nvm,, but if not your banner is gone..
Has anybody else pointed out that, without glasses, her eyes aren’t all Tina-swirly?
Frequently. And her “glamour” turns from geeky girl to… well, glamourous goddess.
She’s busty in the first and last panels, and wearing her glasses in both
