Peter, Peter Pumkineater, Had a wife and couldn’t keep her; He put her in a pumpkin shell And there he kept her very well.
Or, more to the point: She’s going to have her pumpkin and eat it too!
Somehow when I learned that rhyme as a kid, I did not recognise it as a tale of gruesome murder.
Yeeeesssss…The predator has secured her preeeeeyyyyy…
With maturity comes a fresh perspective!
Although I don’t recall this idea coming up a few pages back when we were discussing child v adult.
Was her name Jacquelyn Tern by any chance??? 🎃
i love that last pannel
think of that phrase every halloween since i read it 😀
(and speaking of which cannot WAIT for this halloween as i now have some nice pumpkin recipies…which never existed before this year..obviously 🙂 )
Mmmm roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin slices roasted with cumin and cinnamon, pumpkin soup…. gotta wait a couple months, but I’m ready 😉
Since nobody else is gonna say it… It’s Monica’s pumpkins I’m more interested in. 😉
And then there’s the foreshadowing of the phrase ‘Pumpkin Eater’…
Sooo . . . pumpkins are apparently related to seahorses, and other critters in which the male carries the young or seeds?
