In an era when there’s no such thing as the “end of a broadcast day”, radio and TV studios have staff round the clock, and whoever’s doing the 6AM morning show has probably been in the studio since 4.
Which gives me some unpleasant reminders of my high school, which always waited until at least after I hauled my ass outside to the bus stop before making any delay or cancellation announcements. Or we’d get to school and suddenly “Well, things are just going to keep getting worse. Boy we shouldn’t have had any of you come in at all huh, let’s just go with a half day.”
My school district closed for snow twice in the twelve years I was there . . . both times they were worried about the roof collapsing.
There were several other times that snow knocked out the power, but it was the lack of heat that closed the school . . . sometimes. Sometimes they kept running until we had a half-day, which didn’t need to be made up.
The one time my school closed early, in elementary school, class let out 2 hours early, they made us wait in the library for our busses. I left class an hour after school was SUPPOSED to end.
Some were there all night–and may be there for several days to come…
If Bud knew they wouldn’t have to go in, why did she wake Brandi?
check the clock. bud had 30 minutes to find out about the weather emergency
