Looking at Luci’s email address I am guessing that she is only dealing with the Para community. Now I have to wonder if the rules of the swim center might have been altered to let specific non paras in without a client.
It sounds as if she has leveraged her status as “a mundane who is In The Know about paras and the Masquerade” into a career.
If I recall correctly, she wasn’t scared or freaked out when she learned about the paranormal world (and, specifically, Castela’s awesome level of power)-. She was interested, enthusiastic, and respectful.
That mindset could help make her a very good counselor. She also had a difficult childhood (juvie) and this could help her connect emotionally with paras going through tough times as they grow up.
Just wondering whether she has a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree or a PhD., where she studied, whether and where she’s been licensed to practice—if she’s putting the title on a business card she must be—and what school of therapy does she practice…
Here in California (and I don’t doubt the rules are different elsewhere) you don’t need a license to call yourself a psychologist, or to work as a counselor or life coach.
If you do have a state license (which requires at least a Master’s degree) you can advertise the fact (and your license number) on your cards, etc. Most LMFTs etc. seem to include their degree info on their cards (e.g. an M.A. or some other acronym after their name). Saying that you have a license, when you don’t, is a huge no-no.
Without a state license, most health-insurance plans won’t reimburse for your services, so your customers must pay “out of pocket”, and you may have difficulty getting professional-liability insurance.
(My wife got her MA in Counseling Psychology and worked as an LMFT for a couple of decades)
I’m not sure I’d react well to a person I’ve known for maybe, I dunno, a week being way too personal with me and then telling me I should see their therapist. It wouldn’t be a good reaction, I think.
Hmm . . .
Rosslyn’s tail approves of Castela.
Will Shawna approve of Rosslyn {or her tail}
Castela has a history of befriending strays. I’m thinking Shawna will be more understanding than most about Rosslyn and her tail.
What was that about subconscious…
Now I’m curious to see what’s happened to Punk Yoga and whether Luci is still working/associating there?

Luci has a degree in psychology?

It’s been a couple of years (in-universe) since we’d last seen Luci. Plus we don’t know what she may have been doing outside of Punk Yoga so…

Does it work the same way in the para community, though? Would one have to meet the same requirements in the para world as they would in the mundane?
I’ve seen the look on Castela’s face before, on my daughter’s face when a kitten curled up on her lap and went to sleep, purring like a diesel engine.
Well, at least Rosslyn won’t require a landfill /desert to avoid leveling a city… AFAIK
Well $&@% the bed Emma! Luci went and got herself reputable. Good for her.

Luci? At Punk Yoga? When did SHE get her psychology degree? (I gotta ask as I have a degree in psychology as well)
