What the hell?!?… Okay I’ve been reading up thus far into Wapsi Square. I cannot deny that I’m having a great time on this ride…. But really?!? I would like to live in the world where it’s commonplace to ask your barista a question like this during small talk… I feel like I’m losing something about this comic in translation… is it not in english normally?…

Oh man what I wouldn’t give to be the fly on your monitor as you roll through the next few pages.

      The logic here is:
M has been coming here for quite some time and has previously received good advice/information/insight from Tina.
Tina handled discussing the Chimera without issue (M had more trouble thinking Tina was ignoring facets of the conversation – chimera v house cat).
Personal demons is a common anthropomorphising term for mental and emotional hang-ups/baggage/history/desires and does not necessarily indicate a manifesting entity.
So, asking an apparently intelligent, level-headed, rational person a somewhat philosophical question that could lead to sound advice for your not-so-philosophical question is perfectly reasonable.

You just saw Monica fishing for some information.
She’s come here with her demons out like an entourage, and she’s come here with them all neatly tucked away.
      Tina reacts to the difference.
