Maybe she thought it was just a big truck? After all it basically is, since it doesn’t have a “snow blower” mechanism.
(Or do people in snow-prone areas typically think “snow plow” whenever they hear a big vehicle in winter? I’ve never lived anywhere that had enough snow to need plowing.)
My house is at the end of a residential street. A Scotiabank parking lot is directly adjacent to my driveway. Their plow service comes around 4:00 am. My bedroom window faces that parking lot. T_T
But that’s just my personal peeve. The more cliched one is for people to get up early to shovel the soft, light snow off their driveway so they can get their care out in time to get to work, and JUST as they’ve finished that hour-or-so’s effort… the street-plow truck rumbles down the street and shoves two vertical feet of densely compacted, heavy snow into your previously cleared foot of your driveway.
I’m told some plow drivers carry a gun, just in case furious people who haven’t had their coffee yet try to beat them to death with snow-shovels. 😛
I shovel out onto the street, and several feet ahead of the driveway, so that the plow will stop shoving snow just in time not to block the driveway. I’ve had it work too!
No: Let the snow and the plow ruin it for you!
Stole the words right out of my mouth…er… keyboard.
snow plows around where i live can wake the bloody dead how did she not hear it coming?

I’m thinking they are too ubiquitous to notice after a certain point in the winter.
She has STILL forgot to put her hat on.
