Have had these moments as a mom. Kiddo is all wrapped up in her own head and is Missing the Point. Finding a delicate way to say so can be tricky with a teenager having an emotional moment.
Cass, Cass, Cass. put them all into a large bag, mix them up, then reach in and grab one. Use it. It’ll be fine, if she likes them all.
(Or if you decide you don’t like that one, then toss it aside and grab the next one — you obviously had a problem with the first that you couldn’t tell yourself. Repeat until you find “the one”.)
🙂 :p 🙂 wait til she gets a bit older… she will be almost out, and mom will say aaaargh! not in that! :red:
But, this is japan.. (???) people don’t mind **what**young girls wear, and people are very polite… 🙂
search for ‘sexycyborg’ – she has some great tech, and even nicer clothes!!! 🙂
first off Sexy Cyborg is in China, not Japan, 2nd they aren’t in japan. (their apartment is in Minneapolis)
3 no in japan they will stare and take pictures. if you are of a certain body type no matter what your age is (you will draw a crowd). In China its actually WORSE. you should hear some of the stories that someone like YaYa Han has about being followed around in places like China and Japan. Its both Sad, hilarious and scary,
did you see the (??????)? :p ( a few years ago, under english rule, it was better.. now stupid CCCP poke their nose in, making it bad for ‘non chinese’.. search for ‘why i left china’..
if you follow her regularly, you will see she is ‘based’ in Shenzhen, moved her workshop to friends place in Thailand during covid, and has been to Tokyo, Bangkok market, Rome, NYC……
maybe having someone with a camera filming you , stops people behaving ‘stupid’… just show it to their friends… :O :O
the family may have an apartment in Minneapolis, But I don’t think many places outside are visited… the kids all go to Tokyo para university, have a holiday on Monica’s island, and go to a special protected area to let off steam by blowing up the odd mountain…
If I had a ‘portal system’ I would never go out in London! – go Italy for good pizza, visit paris most evenings, and Shenzhen for good tech stuff!
a Cautionary tale though, a friend traveled to china once to set up the company banking system, and got a nice laptop…
he got back to UK, and found he could not find drivers, they only do them in china (cannot speak chinese)!!
sorry — Italy doesn’t really have Pizza. Maybe you can call focaccia “pizza”, but don’t count on it. Pizza is an American invention, originated in Wooster Square in New Haven CT (yes, some claim it was NYC or other locations, but they’re wrong). Look up Pepe’s, and Sally’s.
Great Scott: oblivious foodie??? ‘real pizza’ is not the overdone thing in most places… Focaccia??? NOT flat, when it is a CM or more thick, using yeast..
A proper pizza base does not use yeast..flatbread was most likely first invented in CHINA, 5000 BC, as they were farming, building, documenting at that time, when most of north america was under ice…
In an Italian restaurant, pizza is a thin (5mm) flatbread with pureed tomato, with a choice of meats and cheeses.
see http://www.ristoranteilsoldino.com/ in Naples, Italy!!
I can’t tell if Katherine is internally face palming, eye rolling, taking deep breaths to filter her response…all of the above? 🙂 I definitely am interested in seeing how tactfully she handles this though. She’s always proven herself to be the ultimate in wisdom and understanding as a mom, so I expect nothing less at this point.
Isn’t this where you go to Dad?
“Listen to yourself Plasma Bolt.
You just said Shawna doesn’t care, which means you could wear my dirty coveralls and it wouldn’t make a whit of difference to her.
The point of every casual outing is to get to know each other, so just _do_ it and don’t sweat the details.
The answer is simple because the issue isn’t clothing. It’s self-image and self-esteem and lover’s fears. The solution is a busty mom hug until Castela calms down.
It is really very simple. She needs someone to pick one suit to wear. It doesn’t matter which one but it will help to have a justification just in case. Personally I’d recommend the sporty one. It suits Castela’s personality, should do a good job of staying on while she shows off her strength and athleticism, and she looks hot in it. A win all around.
I do not think this was a problem for Katherine in high school.

It doesn’t stop when they’re not teens anymore!
Certainly not right after her Archeological time in the Desert…

Kath is attempting to mentally delete the info about Shawna thinking her sweet little cactus looks hot in bikini’s and focussing on how to help her 😀

Easier said than done. Would she even know which tree was her Dad?
Any guesses how many numbers up she’s counting before she answers?
Hey, the solution is obvious.
All we have to do, is agree on an answer to one simple question.
“Just what does. or does not constitute a crisis in this household?”
See, that was easy. wasn’t it?

Very true…
not just for females, either.
but teen females?
very, very fragile situation.
Vorlonagent: I think we may see(after hugs 🙂 ) Kath going through some old pics and stories about her early teen years…
