Granted, practically every other character has an alternate form, but there is no guarantee this can’t be just a descendant of Poseidon’s original flock.
Unfortunately, there are too many of us commoners who conflate good sense and folk wisdom as common sense, especially when the toffs suggest we “use common sense and ignore the experts” on matters where it’s vital that experts should be listened to.
