There’s a question: What can demons do or not do? It seems that they are targeted to influence a specific host, so, Jin’s doubt can’t affect Monica… but Monica’s doubt affected Jin… so… that’s not right… and demons can’t harm hosts, physically, can they? Like Doubt couldn’t just slice Monica’s wrists for her, right? That’d make time stop.. And What about hosts affecting their own demons? Can they affect others’ demons? Like can Monica batter Jin’s doubt? And we’ve seen demons (in shells, though, that’s a question of if they do or do not need such a shell) hit other demons?
From what I can gather, it’s all about influence. A demon can influence their hosts to kill themselves, but can not slice their wrist or push them off the building. The final decision has to be made by the host.
Monica’s Doubt upset Jin, but maybe Monica is a bit less vulnerable and refused to let herself be upset by jin’s doubt. It was said before that demons should not interact with each other, but that seems like more of a guideline. Jin and Monica’s demons could talk to each other, and Tina could smack them both, and nothing catastrophic happened.
Tina also said that she wasn’t allowed to bring harm to a person. She said that harm would involve actually pushing a knife into someone, but she was not responsible for what someone chose to do with her advice.
Whoa, that got long! That also helped me sort a few things out.
Not so much that they should not interact with each other as that if a (group of) demon(s) is assigned to more then one person it is taboo (should those persons ever meet) to set up one against the other.
Tina also didn’t say she (or any demon) wasn’t allowed to bring direct harm to a person (she just realized that she’s has directly harmed someone but can’t remember how/when/what), just that the moment it is done reality strikes back with lifelong solitary confinement.
But she looks awesome!
