So, Monica tells Katherine about what happened to the calendar machine, but neglects to inform her that their boss is giving/gave a tour of the museum to the sphinx?
No. That is just a girl standing her ground. Her raising self confidence. She extra repeats the fact that she talked with Monica. Which is not a normal thing for her.
i recon thats just her giving up trying to say everything that happened in one sentence by saying she just spoke to monica.
kinda like the monty python spanish inquisition thing i think..

Katherine is my favorite character, she really deserves some more limelight.
She’s smart, sweet, and lovably strange – in short, my idea of a wonderful friend. Would be nice to spend my afternoons reading or doing ‘boring’ museum work with someone like her.
“Oh great YOU talked with Monica today. YOU get to go out and do interesting things with others while I stay here all day, swimming around and around in this unbelievably tiny little bowl. If you really cared about me you would at least spring for a larger tank with those plastic plants and ceramic castles. Oh! And one of those bubbly treasure chests with the lid that opens and closes. I could watch one of those things all day. Chasing the bubbles would be rad! You know, make my miserable little life a bit more interesting. I don’t even have one of those little castles with the big hole I could swim through over and over. But don’t worry about me. I’ll just be over here practicing floating upside down.”
Oscar is a bit less wordy, saying as much with that spit.
I’ve heard somewhere that the average attention span for a fish is somewhere around 3-5 seconds. So the conversation would have to be short, something like this:Q-”Who are you?” A-”Katherine.” Q-”Are you going to eat me?” A-”No.” Q-”Who Are you?”…etc
As for the repeat of ” Hey, Oscar!”, I kinda saw it as: “I talked to her and she did stuff.. but she didn’t…. Uhm… I’m not making a lot of sense.. Hmm.. You know what? Let’s start over!”
I see it more like she is amazed at herself for talking to Monica at all. Amazed herself that she was actually being social and someone responded in kind with important and personal news. That she acted like a normal, non-introverted person. She is really saying it to herself for emphasis on this historic ocasion.
I suddenly just got it. Oscar the grouch. Because anyone who’s had a betta will tell you, grouchy is all they are. (Yes, I’ve had a lot of them. I have a particularly bitter one named Emerald who hermits himself from his goldfish friends)
If you were as perpetually as sex crazed as Betas and had no female upon which to bestow your “gifts,” you would be grouchy too. Come to think of it, maybe that’s why I was so grouchy as a young teen?
She looks great
I am curious about her hair though. She must be conditioning it or going to the salon cuz i know previously her hair was kinda sucky and now its woah!
Are all these chars based on peeps from real life (eg is there a girl whos hair was like that and she changed it) or pure imagination?
I seem to recall monica was based of a gf?
Perhaps we can pretend that, along with her new look and attitude, she put up new wallpaper as well. Now she just needs a boyfriend (girlfriend?). Maybe a morgue attendant or mortuary embalmer. Better yet, an entomologist with a large collection of living specimens.

Spitting is flirting for betta fish. The males make bubble nests that way when they fancy a pretty fishy lady.
I was under the impression that the Archer fish was the only one that spits. Live and learn.
They don’t spit long distances like Archers do, just small spits to make bubbles.
