panel 1: “Do you remember the pits? He tortured you down there for weeks! But you didn’t have the courage to give up. You ate the scarabs he tossed in at night so they wouldn’t bite you in your sleep. All the time thinking you could escape. What a worthless decision.”
So I’m wondering if this is a plot inconsistency, or is Jin able to fool even a demon? After all, the “him” that tossed the scarabs into the pit was actually Jin in her male “Tochtli” disguise. Also, according to Brandi’s flashback, Jin wasn’t in there for weeks. She found out the priests were raping the girls, went schitzo, mutilated some guards in the process blowing her cover, got caught and thrown in the pit, cut her wrists and by remaining unbroken, wrested control of the chimera from the priests. I’d think an entity such as Doubt should know all that if it already managed to get into Jin’s head. The possibilities are therefore twofold: Either Jin is able and decides to hide that part of her memories from Doubt (for whatever unknown reason), or Paul had only a loose outline of the Chimera’s story by this point, which he later filled in, changing some facts in the process.
Hah!
A lie, but a cute little insult nonetheless.
Organ to a canopic jar….

panel 2: “You have no value.”
Thank you.
