And she has yet ANOTHER sudden realization. Out of all the characters, she really gets these the most. She’ll say something or someone else will say something and the strip ends with her shocked “holy crap” face.
This one’s probably my favorite though. Just from her expression in the last panel.
Of course this will do nothing for her attempt to gain credibility in the archaeological community with these findings, considering that those who even entertain the notion of a factual basis for Atlantis wouldn’t publicly admit to the possibility of an Antediluvian civilization.
They’d sooner admit to the existence of Stygian, Aquilonia and Cimmeria…
Can we just acknowledge how genuinely creepy those eyes in the last panel were? I regularly see this throughout the archives, and look to see if anyone has said anything about it, but nobody ever has. Every time I see sideways pupils in the middle of the eyes it just sends chills down my spine. Am I just crazy? Are you guys noticing this too?
Historians of the very far future will one day look at this time and this moment in this home with this woman and say,
“This is when the first step was taken and the world’s views began to turn upside down.”
(Oh, I wish it were this easy.)

I wonder if she can see us.
Not without seeing past the fourth wall.
At where, Monica, dear?
The first time I read this strip, I thought, “Ah! I KNEW there was a connection there. Lanthus sounds too close to be a coincidence.”
Yeah, first time I read this, I kept thinking “when will the connection be made?”
yknow when i first read that i didnt make the connection 🙂
Me neither 🙂

Tvtropes calls that a ‘eureka moment’.
Also known as a “paradigm shift” or a “sewing-machine experience”

Are you saying those states have no evidence Conan for them? But what about the historical documents found by Roert E. Howard?
All that’s missing from the last panel is a little mushroom cloud coming out of her head.
