ahem – I think you mean “you’re” in the final panel. But I’m just an old copy editor.

She ate the cookie and took off the scarf.

For some reason, in this sequence, Phix reminds me even more strongly than she previously did of Eve Arden, for some reason.

Mebee she took off the scarf, it’s probably warm in there if Phix is sleeping on the floor.

“I don’t hink you’d treat me blah blah blah….” The last words of the about-to-be-seriously abused.

“The next you come here” reads a bit odd, though it’s not necessarily grammatically incorrect.

It’s an older style of speaking but I don’t think it has the effect that I had hoped it would. I think it’ll just confuse more people. It’s been changed.

FWIW, I liked the original. I would be Phix’s slave…

Given that I live in Central Iowa, and many people automatically assume that people from this state speak in an “aw, shucks” manner, it cracks me up to no end that Phix uses that phrase.

    Sort of British-sounding, actually.

It would be like an American with a Midwestern accent using an Irish colloquial phrase in the presence of a Brit. =)

As i said – for some reason Phix has always “sounded” like Eve Arden to me maybe it was too much exposure to Our Miss Brooks at a young age.

Did I go into the gutter in assuming that by “wipe your feet” Phix felt that Monica was, as they say out on the farm, “spreading it thick”? ;)

Phix has her own past burdens, and the previous temporal run-thoughs are part of it. Quantum Awareness but still not knowing what actions give what results.

Given all she’s been through herself, Phix at least deserves a year’s supply of catnip this Christmas. I’d think in the form of a large mouse, but at her size, maybe a catnip bison is more fitting.

I think she’d just prefer tea. In bulk.

Hmmmm, Phix says that she is “honest”. She also likes Monica and wants to help and encourage her, but cannot tell her anything.
So, is her saying, “The next time you come in here…” a hint to Monica that she will be OK? Don’t worry?
