Whoops, it wasn’t any of the titles, it is “Far Side of The World”, film version (the ship in the book was actually an American one–the USS Norfolk

Phix is probably thinking the library was such a peaceful place before Mon showed up, with all her crazy friends 😀

Which side is Phix going to join? Or is she going to beat a hasty retreat 😀

OKAY, Phix … Quickly … Pick a side. Get into the Cosplay!!! Find another canon.
At least pass the canon balls.

I bet Phix could handle some pretty big shot.

If Castela andd Shelly are english buccaneers, and Nudge is French navy, Phix could play the part of a Spanish merchant defending her ship.

I’d cast Phix in the role of “KRAKEN”!!!?!

I think the library itself (beings it IS sentient) is enjoying this,
Otherwise, the library would have ALREADY stopped it.

Thought I REALLY like the arc, what does it pertain to? Shelly, Castela and Nudge just ‘decide’ to be pirates, sell corn, an’ piss Phix off no end? What’s up with that?

They are re-enacting the plot of “Master and Commander: Far Side of the World”

Hmm… let’s see… the library is interested in anything with writing. If the cannon was engraved with a little, it might be present in the library. Ditto for the other tools. As to weapons not working? They’re not. There’s no evidence that any of them have actually fired a cannonball.

That, and the library has shown previously that it will sometimes manifest arbitrary objects, including explosives… but then, a lot of explosives have things written on the side, don’t they?
