Seriously? Ugh. Girls keep yourselves together. She has a valid reason for being nervous, ok? Like, i know my fiance would never hurt me but he’s a big man and I’m afraid of big men, so sometimes his presence is a little scary. If we had a relationship like this, you’re damn right i’d be wary simply because anxiety and past experiences.
All I’m getting out of this is Nadette is worried that Atsali is dangerous and is basically labeling her like a ticking time bomb. Considering she’d only ever gotten aggressive when startled and even then felt bad afterwards isn’t it ridiculous that her girlfriend is behaving his way?
not really. they ARE perfectly feelings to HAVE, it’s how Nadette reacts to them that we (the readership) seems to have issues with…
while it’s not “gender” identification (and associated prejudices) as we know it today, but there seems to be a similar strain of bias occurring in the Para world… Predator and Prey/Bevies, kinda like in Zootopia… to me it seems as though Nadette is identifying more with the “bevies”, or NON-predators, concerning the predator side of Atsali’s personality, as she thinks it’s too over-the-top and is probably leery of Atsali lashing out at HER by mistake… BUT… Abby and Devyn who ARE predators, are Totally “OK” with Atsali acting that way, thus the “total bad-ass” comment. basically they find out that Atsali has some cast iron ovaries when it comes to getting rough n’ tumble and it INCREASES her status in their eyes… thus someone they can actually LOOK UP TO, in addition to being a Nerd like them…
Sali is dangerous, and she is a ticking nuclear bomb: if the wrong entity startles her, she could literally destroy that entity with no way of bringing them back
In “Grrl Power”, they had a flashback of when Maxima gained some of her powers for the first time: her brother popped a bag near her while she was sleeping on a couch, she blew a hole through the wall and the next few houses had new doors (she only very narrowly missed her brother and just burnt his sleeve, but she could very easily have blown a hole through her brother, imagine what that would do to a sixteen year who already considers herself a freak because of the physical appearance changes she has already gone through)
Thybris? I seem to recall it was Thymbris. I could be wrong.
No, I’m right. http://wapsisquare.com/comic/meeting-thymbris/
