Nothing like seeing your own first baby picture.
It never hurts to ask. It might hurt to get answered.
Yeah…. she may regret this quest. She’s already learned far more than she knew before, but the next load of information is going to be painful.
Oh, what happens next is going to be so painful for Castela.
Seeing your mother killed by assassins…
Atsali’s mother/Castela’s guardian.
Effectively Castela’s mother, since she and her husband were apparently part of the team that created Castela.
…and apparently the only ones who cared about the child they were creating (or at least suffered any moral qualms).
The realization that Castela and Atsali have been together much much longer than she ever thought is just sinking in…
…And here comes a bit of the old ultra-violence…
Have a glass of milk, my droog.
Milk-plus actually, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking.
This is almost physically hurting me. I feel so bad for them both right now.
Oh, this won’t end well…
We know it doesn’t
But Castela will never accuse her parents of abandoning her after this, and the men responsible were dealt with by MIB.
Was Big Stinkweed about to talk to Widdle Pwant in panel three? Or was she going to poke her younger self? o_O
I’m pretty sure that Castela cant actually interact with the ‘holograms’, but she might still talk back to the images, or at least out loud…
Astali isn’t even old enough to understand that plants aren’t supposed to move.
You never met a Triffid, have you
There was a time that I didn’t understand that rock aren’t supposed to float . . .
Welp. I just suffered the pain of catching up on my first massive archive binge of the comic. Now I’ll just settle down in the back and watch with the rest of y’all. Scuse me. Pardon me. Don’t mind my popcorn. *crunch crunch crunch*
I hope you brought enough for everybody! 🙂
Oh, oh no….I think I recognize that text in the last panel…please don’t tell me she’s about to witness THAT.
