Japan for the next 36-48 hours or so. They’ve been getting socked for a couple weeks, and a tropical storm almost the size of the entire country is merging with the general East Asia system just in time to run over most of the country right now.
And, I think you’ve got the best take on it … Castela (most enviably) has access to several methods of traveling TO storms. There is hardly an hour of any day on Earth goes by where she shouldn’t be able to find one that’s intense enough for her.
Maybe she needs one where she lives to get the energy & cleansing in her local environment ..?
However, I am looking forward to Castela: The Stormbringer.

Castela is at least part-plant & it looks like her friend Daylla is working in the garden (ie: plant-adjacent/friendly). No wonder she and the stink-weed get along…
I suspect that Bud would expand the GO/NO Go Filter for the canyon to specifically EXCLUDE McPedro from getting in even though he is a sentient plant-based life-form… the randy little bugger is almost as bad as Pintsize.
Daylia the engineer, solving the spoken complaint instead of listening for the hidden message. I suspect a ‘teenage’ situation, filtered through Castela’s unique biology. I’d prescribe a boyfriend who is part electric eel.
I don’t have any scientific data to back it up, but in my experience people (and especially teenagers) are subliminally sensitive to changes in atmospheric pressure that come before storms. To a point where I’ve anecdotally noted that misbehavior incidents increase at the local middle school prior to storms, or conditions when storms should form.
Maybe Castela’s problem is that she sucks the storm potential out of any place she happens to be, and it’s getting more pronounced as she gets older. She’s got to be getting that energy from somewhere.
Perhaps she can vacation here https://www.rt.com/viral/343819-lightning-capital-world-venezuela/
I always envied a friend who had an office on a higher floor in a building that was taller than most of Cambridge, letting her watch thunderstorms roll in…
Too bad you weren’t in northern Illinois, Castela. We’ve had a few good storms you’d enjoy.
Maybe The Library could poit you somewhere where it’s more stormy.
The library doesn’t poit. It vorps.

Ditto for northeastern Kansas.
Gotta be careful messing with natural orders, man.
She can have some of the storms we’ve been having for the last month or so here in North Georgia…
Language, young lady!
Also, you forcing a storm where you are will deprive other, non-motile plants elsewhere of their storms. Think about that.
She could be a storm chaser.
I’m surprised that http://wapsisquare.com/comic/you-know-what-i-mean/ wasn’t listed as one of the “related comics” – that was a favorite.

Wait, she can DO that? 🤤
Recent eBay pin-ups ref a few years down the road (Cas @ 16) w/ a definite Storm theme…

Are regular plants like pets to her? I wonder how she would get along with McPedro… https://img1.etsystatic.com/000/0/5159056/il_fullxfull.112686317.jpg

That’s not good if stinkweed is thinking of rustling up a storm, specially if it’s not in her canyon.
I like a good storm as well, but please don’t force a storm, that could be bad elsewhere.
“Helpful advice.”
“NOT LISTENING.”
You’d think she’d have figured out by now that the weather never does what you want. Nope, not even then. 🙂
If she hangs around Monica — she can get a pile of snow dumped on her in the middle of summer…

Hurricane Castela.

…She wants storms? She should be here. We’ve had rattlebangers all year.

Storm in an a-cup.
I don’t think Castela has developed any “mammal bumps” yet 🤔

ait; she can DO that???
How dare Daylla offer helpfull suggestions while Castella is complaining!!
Zimmy from Gunnercrigg Court would relate…
Wait. That last frame. Does Castela have her head turned around backwards?
No, she’s just flat-chested. See which arm she has on her hip in the previous panel?
