Her getting a grip on something before it ruptures….. yeah I think that is a plot line for a movie… probably one that should never be shown to kids…. lol
Yeah, of course. If you hadn’t noticed, the school setup has moved more to the stereotypical anime high school style with out fully making the cross over. Even the boys uniforms appear to be fashioned after them. With that in mind, Japanese vending machines and especially the drink ones have a pretty wide selection in them. When I was going to high school here in the US as well, we had a few different coffee options in ours as well. Starbucks usually.
Cortanis beat me to it. Gryphon seems to be set up on the anime high school model, what with school uniforms, rooftop courtyards, school activity clubs, and vending machines.
And you can buy almost anything from Japanese style vending machines.
This isn’t the first time a student has mentioned getting a coffee based beverage from a vending machine on school grounds. Timmy did it awhile back when the storyline about Scarlet being able to hear ghosts was being set up.
You’re right, it has been mentioned before. For some reason ‘that seems odd’ didn’t kick in. Maybe it’s because there is a lot of fuss in the UK at the moment about caffeine loaded drinks in schools.
Some, myself included, have wondered if Gryphon isn’t actually located in Japan, being that teleporting and poiting is such a common way to travel in the Wapsi universe.
We didn’t have a coffee vending machine at my school, just one for soda and carbonated water. But we did have a coffeemaker so we could brew it fresh ourselves.
When I was in the Navy the barracks had vending machines with beer. And the enlisted men’s club on base in Subic Bay in the Philippines had a room full of slot machines.
I think I was 6 or 7 when I first had coffee. Half of it was milk, of course, but I still took less sugar than many of the adults. That was nearly 3 decades ago.
Castela freaks to Jesus.
Well that settles that, that is a rose-styled bun in her hair.
And Stela goes thermonuclear blushing red. 😀
Don’t tear it out, Castela. It’ll just grow back.
Be happy it’s a rose-style bun and not a rose growing out of your buns…
Girl. You need to come to grips with what’s goig on with you before you rupture something.

And let’s face it, that scene is probably a good couple of years away with them at least.
Could plants have heart attacks… and what would it be called?
A blood saprifice? Ruptured capillaries? Huanglongbing?
Had to look the last one up! Cool, learned something new today!
She’s contemplating how “long” his “ding” is “huanging?”
😀
melting down in 3…2….
Coffee? At school?

Same here. We had a couple of coffee machines. Wasn’t Starbuck’s though. That hit just after I graduated, IIRC.

Hmm. Kids with superpowers hopped up on caffeine.

As I said a while back, if I’d tried to drink coffee at their age I’d’ve gotten scalped for it. Changing times.
I think I was 6 or 7 when I first had coffee. Half of it was milk, of course, but I still took less sugar than many of the adults. That was nearly 3 decades ago.
I probably snuck a taste of it ’round that age. These days, I don’t drink coffee ’cause I don’t like the taste.
No sneaking here, I said I wanted to try it and my parents gave me some.
No wonder she’s upset. This brief encounter is a microcosm of their relationship.
She can see that it will never work out. He’ll just love her and leaf her.
Pay the pun jar, sir.
Our friend Dave has a revolving Charge Account w/ said Pun Jar…
Poor Castela; Didn’t know she was being ‘demonstrative’…
(Dave offers the Pun Jar a copy of Whitman’s “Leaves Of Grass”, and a CD containing Coltrane’s version of “Greensleeves”)
We do remember, of course, that Paul has a Patreon account. I think that is a wonderful place for a pun jar!
On one hand he complemented her on it, on the other hand she is embarrassed by the rose.
I think I’m ready for something different to happen
She still has to testdrive Hiroshi’s equipment in the dark.
And deal with the Shawna problem.
PICKLE.EXE has crashed. Restart? Y N
Ah, growing pains for a para; what could be finer…
What would be the equivalent of this?
A dude with his fly down and his erection sticking out?
