Briar’s so darn cute, but cue the “Twilight Zone” theme whenever she makes an entrance. Evidently she ‘ports without even thinking about it, which explains a lot. I think Castela’s found a new bud, or maybe a puppy.
Why do i foresee jealous cat-fights in the future between Shawna and Pickle about Briar?… is it maybe because every time Cas has said anything about or to Briar directly, that she’s been blushing the whole time?… I’ll even go so far as to say that when she tells Shawna about being Briar’s Care-Buddy, it’s that she was “assigned” to be it, not that she volunteered for it…
I don’t think Castela has been this consistently flustered around someone since Hiroshi first appeared and then joined the paranormal activity club. Even when she and Shawna started exploring their relationship there seemed to be at least some conscious thought involved, while in this case Castela just seems to be reacting in whatever way will keep her near Briar.
I know time is relatively compressed in the current scene compared to us reading the comics over multiple days, but this sort of reaction over more than a brief period would potentially be classified as ‘twitterpated’.
I suspect part of it is due to Briar’s succubus heritage combined with what seems to be world-class ADHD, causing Castela to be unwittingly drawn to Briar (and Ms. Alger has information regarding that possibility)? Or it could just be a typical adolescent flash crush and quickly run its course like most do, though there’s some concern in the back of my mind about Shawna’s reaction..
honestly , i don’t think “flash crush”… im thinking, ?who just left for collage.? , now look at Briars body type, an mind set, (lack there of.).
then there is the need to protect ‘vapor brain.”..
so yeah,, im thinking, a convenient “sister” stand in… tho Cas wont see it that way…

Her Human side won’t be much help either because our Species is known for being drawn to Lost Causes. Ad into that volital Mix the notion That Shawna and Cass were just debating – that Brier may actually BE a Portal! Shake well.
Last time that happened to me, I went straight through. ‘Course I was like five or six at the time…
