I imagine since all she mentions as plans for that weekend is doing laundry, she can easily reschedule, it’s probably more about the time going too and from.
Couple years ago I was working in the north west of NSW, and driving occasionally to Sydney. On good highways. Took 12 hours of driving time, plus breaks.
Got caught out by scale like that in Canada. Main road from Whistler to Vancouver was closed by an accident on the day we were due to be flying back to the UK. Here, there’s always another route, so we asked the holiday rep why we didn’t just use a different road. Apparently there was an alternative, but instead of 2 hours or so normally, it would be sixteen hours. It was quicker to sit on the main road stationary for seven hours while the police cleared up than take the next best choice…
Wow Americans complain way to much about traveling. i’m in Australia where a 2 hour drive is Nothing to get ANYWHERE.
I once drove 3 just to make dinner for my girlfriend (now ex) who didn’t want to go to work, that night.
7 1/2 hours might cause us pause but 2-3 not worth mentioning
Don’t believe it of all of us… My favorite cousin lives in Nebraska. Its 2 1/2 hours to the nearest mall and she raised 4 daughters in that house. It’s all in what you’re used to…
That was probably ALSO something Shelly planned for; this gig she did not.

Chicago was selling her more clothes! Hence, laundry was moot.
It’s amazing. I forget how normal sized other states are sometimes. LA and SF are both 3 1/4 – 4 hours away from me, but in the same state.
You think that’s bad try 8 1/2 hrs from the north coast of N.S.W. to capital city Sydney in Australia.
And that was taking the most direct route of the main highway down the coast before all the bypasses were built.

Well, I live in Waco, Texas.
It’s 8 hours to Texarkana and more than twelve to El Paso (Both are towns in Texas).

That’s us Yanks for you. Complaining is our specialty.
I don’t know, my job is an hour drive from my house, depending on traffic, so I wouldn’t be bothered by that kinda drive.
