And do not forget, Shelly, this “secret plan” is being kept hidden from yet another secret plan. Tom Clancy and Ian Flemming combined could not come up with this level of subterfuge.
Actually Ian Flemming came up with a plan of the same complexity. Called Operation Mincemeat.
Reason for operation: Build up of forces in Africa after Rommel was chucked out couldn’t be hidden. Need to divert German forces from Sicily (most likely target) and to keep reinforcements from being sent until even a blind man could see it was no diversionary attack.
How:
1 corpse (pneumonia since the corpse needed the same lung damage as someone who drowned) & secret plans (fake) to be dropped with said corpse from an airplane close to Spain. Then wait until the Spanish let their German allies rifle through the documents and then give the corpse (with documents) back to the British. Enigma messages processed by ultra and force movements showed that bait was taken (later the invasion of Sicily corroborated this).
So you have a secret plan that consists of convincing your enemy that the fake secret plan specially made for the secret plan is true with the intention of using this secret plan to hide & support another secret plan
ahahahaha. And thank you for talking about Elephant Ears before, whenever I mention them people think I’m crazy – then I switch to east coast dialect: Doughboys.
Technically, they didn’t suffer evacuation, the calendar machine did. You evacuate a space (a room, a building, etc.) of people. If people are evacuated, that means what’s in their insides ends up on the outside…
How long you been waiting to use that particular phrase 😀
*Snort*

I think it would take a Baron Harkonnen. Or maybe one of the Bene Gesserit.

Where did you learn this stuff?
The Man Who Never Was
The book (& movie) detail the events of this WWII op.
The book is good. The movie is … not.
Uuuuuuggggghhhh……terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible joke.
roflmao… I love this punny joke.
This is probably the best comic I’ve read since I was, like, 5 years old. It’s certainly the best web-comi I’ve been following.
G – R – O – A – N!
On the plus side the ‘end of days’ means no clean up!
better known as “why put off until tomorrow what you can do yesterday”?
Bah, it’s too early for time puns.
*headdesk**headdesk**headdesk*
What a dramatic setup just to be capped off by a lousy.cheap.pun.
…and of course, what upsets me is that it wasn’t *my* lousy, cheap pun….
(Prostrates unworthy self.)
Actually, as puns go, it’s pretty ^clever^😏
Uuugghhh… a pun to make the writers of Airplane 2 proud! ^_^;
Well punned!
Surely you can’t be serious!
I am serious, and stop calling me Shirley!
lol wow. . . that’s an awesome sauce pun there
“Uuugghhh… a pun to make the writers of Airplane 2 proud! ^_^;”
You are surely correct.
Just because it happens, doesn’t make it any easier to handle in the moment…
ahahahaha. And thank you for talking about Elephant Ears before, whenever I mention them people think I’m crazy – then I switch to east coast dialect: Doughboys.
I love how they both say that with a straight face
Don’t worry, we can try again in about 1500 years….
I can’t believe he went there.
Premature evacuation?!? [brandishes ruler] Hold out your hand… };)

Currently on my second read through for the fun of it, this line is still great. A pun worthy of Sluggy Freelance.
Ow.
*shakes the pun jar furiously*
AND YOU LOT GIVE ME A RATION OVER MY PUNS!!! 🤨
